Dream Over | Japan's DREAM Promotion Closes Doors | MMA NEWS

This past weekend it was reported that Japan’s number one MMA promotion has went out of business.

MMA-Japan had the scoop:

DREAM is no longer a going business, we learned today from various people in the industry. Multiple sources have confirmed this with MMA-Japan. OF COURSE and I put this in bold print – YOU NEVER KNOW WITH THINGS IN JAPAN but more than one individual has told me the exact same thing.

Earlier, we reported that they had delayed their July event, possibly for the rest of the year. Now, we are being told that DREAM is no longer a going concern.

This will leave a plethora of Japanese fighters without a job and give OneFC the ability to scoop up a roster’s worth of very talented fighters. Others may descend upon the USA to try out their ranks with Bellator and on the regional circuit.

I hope SHOOTO and DEEP will live forever.
It would suck to see JMMA go out of business

  4. JLS says:

This is sad but hopefully those fighters get to showcase themselves in bellator, ufc, strikeforce, or any other organization.

  5. cntybollax says:

    this sucks
i dont understand why either cos its not like dream or sengoku were small events, they were rammed and super arena was always full :/

    • Mayor of Deviance says:

I think it would’ve helped if HDnet was part of more TV provider packages. I still don’t get that channel–so if I didn’t pirate DREAM, I never got to see it : /

      Damnit this is sad news.

  6. monkey juice says:

Sengoku had 1200 people at their shows. Shevallo and metzger pushed it to 1202. Probably 600 paid attendance. Dream was blowing their wad On lasers, lights and production. ****ing learned nothing from pride collapse. Goddam **** shit. ****in UFC pig dogs. Pride was soooo much better than UFC. Free for all on roids (this makes fights better you haters), open weight tourneys….****…

  7. 808 says:

The fiasco between the DREAM promoters and Vinny makes a lot more sense now.
