Dos Santos: Overeem Deserves A Beating Not A Title | UFC NEWS

“If UFC wanted me to fight Overeem I’d gladly shut him up because he’s been saying a lot of crap, he’s been learning from Chael Sonnen. I’m tired of these guys who think they’re so big, so strong, so bad and that people will get frightened by them because they look bad. There’s no such thing anymore. We’re athletes and the winner will be the one who trains the most. That’s what I have to say about it. I really told Dana White I’d love to fight Overeem. Beating Overeem, actually. That’s what’s going to happen when this bout actually happens. It would be a pleasure. From the way I see it, he didn’t deserve a title shot. Cain deserves it and that’s why we’re fighting. Overeem deserves to a beating and I’m going to arrange that.”

UFC heavyweight champion, Junior dos Santos tells Brazilian media outlet, Tatame.com, that he would be happy to give Alistair OVereem the beating he deserves.

Is this rivalry brewing stronger by the day?

  1. The Human Piranha says:

Can’t wait for someone to get Ko’d – no chance reem jds is goin past 2 rounds.
Then again Cain might smash Jds if he gets him down!

    • Mayor of Deviance says:

Wouldn’t that be awesome? Not that I want JDS to lose, but if he does, then he’s free to fight Overreem immediately after his suspension is up without anyone questioning “does reem deserve a title shot.” JDS fans win no matter what after the next championship fight :D

  2. Gonzo says:

Read this article on FightersOnly this morning yet theirs was longer had more back story about Overeem but yea would love to see JDS vs Overeem more than JDS Vs Cain 2

  3. Josh T says:

I disagree, Overeem did deserve the title shot, however nothing can be said, because it was he himself that screwed himself out of it. He pissed hot and that’s the end of the story.
Granted, he’s doing everything he can to fight as soon as Dec. I believe.
& you can tell JDS feels threatened by Reem. He implied it in pre-fight pressers. He knows how good Reem is at striking and said, we may see him go for a TD.
Anyway, this was the most anticipated fight if not foty worthy.
These guys are easily the No. 1 & 2 HW’s of the world.
IMO, I honestly don’t want to see another Cain vs. JDS

But Reem vs. JDS f*ck yeah!

Someone is going to sleep no doubt.
& this will not be a ‘walk in the park’ fight for JDS neither.
Anyway, the brass have ‘got to’ make this fight happen asap.

  4. DMAC says:

HW title is boring, no star power and you can’t market it the way you could if Reem had the belt. If JDS wants the fight as much as he’s acting they’ll put it together but I don’t think he wants it, he’d rather fight Cain again.

    • MIKE says:

Are you serious? JDS is a star, and is becoming one of their biggest stars. Hes puts everyone to sleep unless the have iron jaws(nelson and carwin).

  5. the facts says:

JDS is gonna get knocked the fuck out when he fights Overeem

  6. BJ is King says:

The Reem will be facing manslaughter charges next year. On a serious note these are both my favourite fighters, I hope its a good fight, I love the heavyweights, the BIG BOYS (I am a heavyweight proportioned person) and I can’t wait to see these two throw down. Its going to be massive (like Reems upper torso).

  7. stephen riddle says:

I want to see cain vs overeem first am i the only one?

  8. Mike b says:

    I can’t wait until overeem gets KTFO.AGAIN…….

  9. pc says:

cain vs overeem for #1 contender. Perfect situation. They both need 1 big win. If it was up to dana it would be jds vs brock or jds vs chael suckit. Stop ruining ufc.

  10. punchkick says:

    jds will break overeem’s jaw.
overeem vs cain sounds more exciting
