Diego Brandao vs Joey Gambino set for UFC 153 | UFC News
By: Chris Taylor
Diego Brandao (14-8 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is set to face Joey Gambino (9-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in his home country of Brazil at UFC 153.
Brandao will be looking to bounce back after suffering a loss to Darren Elkins at UFC 146 in his last bout. The Ultimate Fighter 14 winner broke the news that he would be fighting at home today on twitter. Diego will be looking to return to the form that saw him run through his competitors on TUF 14.
Gambino made his UFC debut this past month at UFC on FX 4. He was lit up by his opponent Steven Siler before tapping out to a guillotine choke in the first round. The loss marked Gambino’s first in 10 pro fights. The Tristar gym member will look to get back to his winning ways this October when he takes on Brandao.
UFC 153 takes place October 13th at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. Featherweight champion Jose Aldo meets challenger Erik Koch in the evening’s main event.
