DeBlass In For Injured Kruth Against Diabate Next Weekend On FUEL
No matter how hard the injury bug works at ruining fight cards, the UFC matchmaking department still manages to make good fights.
The latest example of this is the shift to next weekend’s UFC on FUEL TV 2 which will see Tom DeBlass step in for the injured Jorgen Kruth against Cyrille Diabate.
UFC on FUEL TV 2 is set to take place on April 14 from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. In the main event Thiago Silva will return from his yearlong suspension against the fast rising Alexander Gustafsson.
DeBlass just signed a four-fight deal with the world’s best MMA promotion and will put his 7-0 perfect record on the line on just two-weeks-notice. He is a Ricardo Almeida product and Ring of Combat champion.
Diabate has had mixed results since entering the UFC. He entered the promotion with a dominant win at UFC 114 over Luiz Cane but then went up against Alexander Gustafsson and got submitted in the second frame of action. He was able to bounce back against Steve Cantwell with a decision but most recently dropped his latest contest to Anthony Perosh via decision at UFC 138.
