Dave Bautista Will Face Vince Lucero at CES MMA: Bring the Pain This Saturday

Dave Bautista will be making his mixed martial arts debut this Saturday night at The Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, but he will not be facing the man he was originally scheduled to fight.

Rashid Evans was arrested on a parole violation forcing the last minute change in opponent for the former six time WWE Champion. Batista will now face 42 fight veteran Vince Lucero in the main event. Lucero has a career record of 20-22, but has a wealth of experience having been beaten former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia in December of 2010.

The 40-year-old Lucero has also faced and lost to UFC veterans Tim Hague, Eddie Sanchez, Lavar Johnson, Brad Imes and Roy Nelson. He has faced a ton of other talent that has fought for the UFC, Bellator and Strikeforce. Lucero has 12 knockouts and 8 submission wins to his credit.

Batista’s debut has generated a ton of publicity for the Providence based organization, but he is hardly the only attraction fighting on Saturday night. Also scheduled to appear are former UFC middleweight title contender David “The Crow” Loiseau and former UFC welterweight John “Doomsday” Howard who is currently the CES middleweight champion.

The show, titled “Real Pain,” is presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports in association with June Entertainment and 4zero1 Entertainment Group. Tickets are priced at $20.00, $35.00, $55.00, $75.00, $125.00 and $250.00 and can be purchased at www.cesmma.com or www.ticketmaster.com. The show will also air live on DirecTV Pay Per View for $29.95 ($39.95 in high definition) – available now – beginning at 8 p.m., or through Livestream via www.bautistamma.com in high definition.
