Dana White "When we do land the right deal over in the UK everything is going to be golden over there,"

“Every time I get on Twitter or whatever, I see the U.K. fans, ‘They don’t care about us. They don’t care about this market.. Same thing with Ireland. Of course we do.”

“We would love to be with FOX over the U.K.,” he said this past September. “I think that once our deals expire, we will figure it out, and we’ll get that whole U.K./Ireland piece of this thing fixed.””

“The television deal we want hasn’t been as easy to acquire as we thought it would be,” he said following this past Saturday’s event. “We thought we could get that thing done. If you’d have asked many years ago and said, ‘Do you think you’ll be on FOX before you secure a big deal over here in the U.K.?’ I would have said, ‘There’s no way in hell. We’ll probably get the U.K. deal done first.’

“But it hasn’t happened. We’re still invested in that whole market out there, and we will get it done. We’re not going to give up on it.”

I think that when we do land the right deal over in the U.K., everything is going to be golden over there,” he said. “It’s always the market that’s made the most sense to me other than the U.S. and Mexico when we first bought this thing. It’s been a long, hard battle, and we’re still fighting it.”

Dana White comments on the current UK UFC broadcasting deal in an interview with mmajunkie. The UFC is currently being broadcast through ESPN in the UK. The deal has not been perfect for UK fans, myself included. Some UFC events are not covered by the channel due to the current deal, most recently this weekend’s UFC on Fuel TV 2 was played on a tape delay.

How do you feel about the current UFC broadcasting in the UK? Would you like to see the likes of the under-card on TV oppose to having to take to Facebook to watch ? Or would you like to see any other type of changes made ?

Would love more coverage was a bummer at weekend had to stay off Internet to before the Sweden show ESPN sucks

  2. Mr.Rusk says:

Any yet they keep wondering why people are pirating their shit. Make the damn deals and get your shit off whack ass super extended cable channels.

  3. Glhr says:

Would love the UFC to have its own channel

  4. byron says:

They need Channel 5, that’s the best option for the widest coverage. Plus 5 already shows older UFC events, boxing and now BAMMA, its time Diana and co, stopped messing about that’s the best deal rite there

considering most ufc events are in usa a deal with sky tv in the uk/ireland would be great not much on live at 3am on a sunday morning! plus they have 4 sky sports channels so even with the differences in times of say when an event is on in uk or brazil or abu dhabi they could still facilitate a live showing , of course we dont know the type of deal ufc or sky would want but it seems like the one that makes the most sense in my opinion , be great if they could get it done!

  6. Jonny says:

It needs to be on Sky Sports or on Channel 5, Espn is such a hassle for most people. The only thing is if they go with Sky they can’t put it on box office, stayin up till 3am is enough, we shouldn’t have to pay aswell.

  7. Ko_King says:

I’m well up 4 that a UFC channel showing all tuf seasons and past event as well as live events. Dana get it sorted.

  8. DanaTheBoss says:

UK already gets free UFC events.. Fuck them.

  9. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Well Fox is the most successful cable network in the USA especially their FNC channel. It doesn’t get any better than having a deal with Fox. I would think that Fox has channels the UFC could broadcast on outside the USA without having to broadcast on ESPN, a channel they have had a rocky relationship with.

Is there not a PPV in the UK?

Sky Sports deal. They are reluctant on pay per views after the last HW debacle with Haye v Klitscho, thats why Vitali is unlikely as they won’t sanction pay per view. Would be awesome if sky went all in and promoted the UFC as they do with the football. I reckon it will be 10-15 years before UK market is at that level, hopefully it will be that big. When you’ve got premiership players on £250000 per week imagine what UFC fighters would earn with the same exposure!

  11. moe says:

if sky sports get the ufc deal they will put it on pay per view as they do with most wwe events and having to stay up all night and pay would not be nice!

    • repairman jack says:

if they got a good sponser behind them they’d have no need to go ppv they could show it the same as the football on sky or the same as the deal with fox in the states
