Dana White Confirms Wanderlei Will Compete In UFC Again | UFC News

By Jamie McAllister
UFC President Dana White states that former Pride Middleweight Champion Wanderlei Silva will fight in the UFC again.

White has been in talks with ‘The Axe Murderer’ recently and confirmed following the UFC 150 post-fight press conference that Wanderlei will compete again in the UFC.

“Yeah, he’s going to fight again,”

Following his first round knockout loss to Chris Leben at UFC 132 the general consensus was Wanderlei should retire from the sport. However Silva bounced back from the loss defeating former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Cung Le at UFC 139 and he put in a fight of the night performace against former UFC Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin at UFC 139.

Silva has gone (3-7) in his past ten bouts and has been knocked out in four of them and his UFC record stands at (3-5). Despite his recent record he has claimed four Fight of the night bonuses and one knockout of the night bonus.

Don’t know how I feel about it. I respect the hell out of Wand. Great fighter for MMA. I love his attitude and the way he fights. If more people fought like him the sport would be more exciting. Anyway, I am not sure how to feel. It’s good to see him want to fight but I get tired of people disrespecting him so much and making bullshit racist comments about him. It’s disrespectful of a guy who gave so much. If he fights now at the end of his career and looses people will be disrespecting him and it sucks. Part of me wishes he would stop subjecting himself to it.
