By Jamie McAllister
Dana White while appearing on FUEL TV on Wednesday night announced the coaches for the upcoming season of TUF.

The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes, features a team of Australian fighters against a team of U.K. fighters.

“The coaches are (Ross) Pearson and (George) Sotiropoulos,” said White, also noting, “They will fight at the end of it.”

Pearson (13-6) overall was recently defeated by Cub Swanson at UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida. However Pearson was the winner of Season 9 of The Ultimate Fighter and also featured on Dominick Cruz coaching staff on The Ultimate Fighter: Live.

Sotiropoulos (14-4) has been out for over a year and is on a two fight losing streak being defeated via decision by Dennis Siver and knocked out by Rafael dos Anjos back at UFC 132. However Sotiropoulos is also an Ultimate Fighter alum he was part of the sixth season of the reality series.

  1. Eberzole would’ve made for a better coach and better TV.

  2. Captain Crunch says:

    Zzzzzzzzzzzz………

    • B-rad says:

im with ya.. They just need to stop these international TUF seasons.. I didnt watch a single TUF brazil although im sure there was some good fights..Besides Rashad Evans, you shouldnt be allowed to coah TUF if youv already been on the show

  3. Keep Fitch (Forever) says:

This season just might have the lowest ratings.

  4. Thurgood Jenkins says:

Just keeps getting worse and worse.

  5. Pijan says:

That’s how you know TUF is on it’s last leg. Shoulda been canceled a long time ago.

  6. dong says:

No American will follow this for long. Too hard to understand what the hell the UK is saying. Not so much the Ausi’s. And who the **** cares about the coaches anyway…

    • WrestlingRules says:

Agreed, but the problem with Australians is that they must all be homosexuals because they keep calling each other mates?????? Aren’t opposite sexes mates??? And by the way what the heck is a barbie and putting shrimps on them???? Isn’t that a little girl’s doll??? And putting shrimp on them is that some kind of weird homosexual ritual or what?? Don’t get me started on the metric system….Oy Vey…

  7. Dyllan says:

You guys are jaded as ****! They are both good fighters and huge stars in their respective countries. Seriously, this is one of the reasons why the world hates us Americans. We are sooo close minded to any other culture, unless we are bombing them. Its not about the coaches anyways you dipshits its about the fighters on the show. So shut the **** up and watch it.

    • Pijan says:

I’m not really sure this exact situation is ‘one of’ the reasons the world hates us. I’m pretty sure there’s more logical reasons for that. But let’s not get carried away, Pearson is a terrible fighter, doesn’t matter what country you put him in. Sotiropoulos, to be honest though, I’ve been a huge fan of his since TUF, really wanted to see him and Danzig in the finals, had Speer not jabbed him in the ****ing eye it would have been. But for him to be coaching TUF? I thought these fighters wanted to be trained by people who were somebody in this industry. As much as I like Sotiropoulos, he hasn’t done much in the Octagon, only notable wins are Stevenson (who’s not really relevant anymore) and Lauzon (who is a future champ, just watch). It’s bad enough 9/10 TUF winners/alum don’t make it anywhere, it’s even worse now they got TUF flunkies coaching TUF. (And yes, TUF winner or not Pearson is still a flunkie, I was shocked he beat Johnson though).

Long paragraph couple of opinions later, it is about the coaches, fighters too but when you’re almost guaranteed you won’t be seeing them again after the show, it kind of defeats the purpose. With all that said, I will shutup now, but I still ain’t watching that failure of a show. Haven’t since they put Kimbo on it, won’t again anytime soon.

  8. Jc says:

Should make for an interesting season. Hope Pearson smashes George when the fight.

  9. yfz450 says:

wow is this season suck the coaches are shit that was one of the good things about the show was the coaches fighting after i could care less about either of these ****s and this new way of doing it live dana thinks its better but with 2 bums for coaches the ratings are going down faster then a hooker

  10. Wrestler66 says:

G Sot & Pearson offer up as better coaches than Brock Lesnar …… But won’t make for good viewing.

When I think TUF Coach I like to see guys who I’m interested in seeing training methods they use themselves to get so good and the type of mind-set they have. Like GSP Cruz, Faber too

But Pearson himself moved to US to learn better methods of training with Alliance do I don’t know what he will be able to offer ….. Not counting them out just yet I hope they do great but TUF started and was interesting because Top guys were coaching.

  11. omgaghost says:

I hope they play it free online like they did with Brazil. Sad thing, is once again they will need sub-titles.
