Dana White Responds To Mayweather Camp | You Shut The Fu** Up!

If you have somehow been under a rock and missed the biggest bit of controversy coming out of the last two days then allow me to update you.

First Floyd Mayweather came out with some racial comments towards Asians. (See them here)

Then Dana White came out and blasted Floyd for being a racist (See it here)

And earlier today we featured a response from Mayweather’s manager which can be found HERE.

Who knows if this brewing feud will escalate beyond this brief two day back and forth, but Dana White was not content in letting the Mayweather camp have the last word. Which is why he sent a text to Yahoo Sports stating the following…

“Just for the record, shut the f— up I wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to Floyd. We’re doing something amazing. We’re building a sport while you guys are destroying one.”

I’m more excited about this feud than Floyd’s next fight.

DANA JUST OWNING UP BOXING I LOVE IT
    MMA FOR LIFE

    • Jeff says:

Since PBF’s big threat is that he will release data on fighter pay between the two sports, lets take a comparative look at fighter pay….

Boxing’s Marquess of Queensberry rules, under which the sport has since been governed, were published in 1867, although the sport was around long before this, we can use this as a starting point since before that it becomes very hard to find much in the way of solid concrete facts

In 1882, 15 years later HW champ “John Sullivan” fought Paddy Ryan and earned $5,000, ..
28.9 times the national average wage…. he also had to put up $2,500 for the fight, winner take all, his opponent HW Champ at the time LOST 28.9 times the national average income that night!!

UFC 1 was in 1993, MMA’s unified rules were published in 2000

In 2010, only 17 yrs after UFC 1 and 10 years after Unified Rules in place (close enough to split the difference):

UFC HW champ Brock Lesnar fought twice earning (with sponsorships) $5.3 million, which between his 2 fights is 63.5 times the national average income per fight

avg annual income- (varies a bit depending on source)
      1880s- $345
      2011- $41,673

Sullivan surely made other money as well, and either sport’s true inception can be debated, but it seems MMA is doing ok at the upper level pay scale for a relatively new sport. If you were to compare Boxing at well over 150 years into its existence, it seems silly to put that against a sport that is less than 20 years old, give or take.

      • Pay Day says:

This coming from a guy using wikipedia!!! If you look at the basic pay of MMA fighters in comparison to boxers you will find that for the punishment and risk that MMa fighters take, they are being underpaid. Do not included sponsorships as boxers make more in this department as well. The point that people should be looking at is the fact that the Asian market is a huge and profitable market that all sports are trying to cash in on, so it would make marketing sense to focus on “home grown talent” from the area to promote that particular sport. Being that mayweather tries to portrays himself as a intelligent businessmen I would have thought he knew that, but judging from his comments it shows his stupidity and ignorance.

  3. drew says:

sidenote boxing is boring, anybody who just scraps with their buddies when their drinking etc its boring, like using kicks to setup punchs, punchs to set up kicks, punchs to set up takedowns, put someone in a triangle becuase they leave their arm in like a dummy, mma is so much diverse in depth and evolutionary then any other mainstream sport right now and probably ever. boxing is something of the past, boxing is primal, mma is for intellectuals who are smart about finishing fights

    • Muaythai17-1 says:

Wow, i’m not sure where to start? umm boxing is boring yes. i agree. But boxing is a science, it’s an art, its 1000 times more refined than MMA will ever be likely. I learned to box when i was 10, fun but too technical to make a career with. Learned Muay Thai from a guy names Alex Gong in San Fransisco, loved it, went to thai land made a career of it for awhile. then MMA came along in 2000(more mainstream-ish in Japan) and i turned to that for fun, love it more than Boxing and Muay thai. BUT boxing is definitly not boring if you appreciate great boxing, which many people still do.

Secondly, “put someone in a triangle becuz they leave their arm in like a dummy”….clearly you are a merely a fan becuz you can set up a triangle from half guard, which is tuff as hell, but is just an example of how “leving your arm in” has absolutely nothing to do with gettting submitted! NOTHING! you can slap on a triangle while someone is hitting you in the face if your fast enuff, again….nothing to do with them “leaving their arm in like a dummy” clearly i’m just pointing out how ignorant you sound.

Finally, “who are smart about finishing fights”………quick math i JUST did from the past 10 MMA cards: out of 104 fights, 57 went decision, that’s a 54% Decision count. more than half. so i’m a sucker for a submission of KO any day but like boxing, Many fighters are starting to look for Wins more than Submission and KO’s.

p.s. Dana used to be a boxing promoter, a damn good one too, he’s still a huge boxing fan, he just prefers MMA but i saw him at a small boxing show in SD a few years back, no nothing small time pro boxers never fought on TV and Dana was there to watch, for pleasure. Dont take what Maywether says as a direct quote from all of boxing, Maywether and pacquaio are all thats left on boxing, let them go out in peace, they’ve both had the most entertaining boxing careers that boxing has had in the past 30 years.

      • Sweet game plan says:

Well take your ass to the boring ass boxing sites then…SEE YA !!!!!!

      • Mayor of Deviance says:

“…they’ve both had the most entertaining boxing careers that boxing has had in the past 30 years.”

        Mike Tyson.

Off-topic, but I had to throw that in this thread.

        • Muaythai17-1 says:

you right, i actually believe in both their primes Tyson would’ve destroyed Ali, BUT Tyson had literally 25 months of a career….not really compariable to 41-0 and Manny Pacquiao’s style. but you’re right Tyson should be added onto it for sheer entertainment purposes, i should have said successfully entertaining careers in the past 30 years LOL!

      • aw says:

I just need to say I like UFC and Strikeforce but I’m so sick of Dana White. In boxing there is no one person calling all the shots. He acts like the godfather, really tired of it. Prefer Strikeforce because I don’t have to see Dana White or Joe Rogan. The fighters have made this sport, until White or Rogan get in the ring repeatedly, suffer injuries, they need to keep a low profile.

    • Rowe says:

I missed the memo that said fighting in a cage is intelligent.

  4. Nicky Francis says:

As much as I think Dana’s a scumbag, this is awesome. He’s really layin’ the smack dowwwn.

    • mindboglin says:

Dana white is a bitch himself who talks alot of shit. Who is he to say that Mayweather doesn’t deserve more money. It’s funny how Dana talks all the shit he does and never shows up anywhere without protection. He’ll call Mayweather out on T.V. and talk all that shit, but why do it on T.V. He has enough money and connections I’m sure to where he could have gotten his phone number and called him personally or set up a meeting. Of course Mayweather would have broken his jaw and left him sleep. But hey. WHo am I. PacMan and Mayweather are great fighters. Dana white needs to shut the fuck up and stay with his own business.

  5. Miguel Alfaro says:

There’s a saying: where there’s smoke, there’s fire. If people keep saying things about MMA fighters pay then it’s gonna come into something bigger soon enough…..

  6. Jebus says:

Dana just dont give a (explicit) does he ! He should be this dramatic about the judging instead ! Yeah he made a statement on the judging but its not enough. I mean the whole “dont let it go to the judges” is so retarded. These fighters are putting their lives up for fighting and its all accepted that judges (explicit) it up. Like if thats just part of the spectacle now (its no sport! Get over it)

  7. Beaner says:

For someone who hates people who talk bs over the internet he sure does give in easy to ignorant trolls when they try to start some real shit lol.

  8. TrigenicKin says:

    Awww shit!

  9. david says:

ik new this was coming hahaha they pissed him off

  10. corey degrote says:

Frist off dana is right floyd should make the fight and stop with all the money shit he know hes gunna get his ass beat not saying to dont like floyd but he has not fought anybody like manny i just think floyb knows he will loose if he fights him thats why he wont make the fight

  11. Dana Rapes Fighters In their CornHoles says:

Bitch boy dana better not run into Floyd and his peeps out in Vegas cuz they’ll straight up Ice his silly cracker @ss!! Ellerbe should definitely hold a free seminar on payperview revenues for all you ^^^^^^^nut huggers up there

    • david says:

obviously your not an mma fan but some fagget cum swallowing boxing fan whos probably so punch drunk hed fuck his own mother out of stupidity, and enjoy it too. floyd wouldnt do shit. your little boyfriend is gonna go to jail and he wont have his “homies” to back him up, hopefully someone whups his ass inside like the little bitch he is, he wont fight manny because hes too busy beating up women and dodging real men, hes a ***** ass coward just like you, now go back to sucking mayweathers dick you fucking reject, even mentally handicapped people look down on a fagget like you

      • Da Man says:

LOL!!! Floyd and his entourage of pants draggin skinny little pussies, all a bunch of wanna be gangsters, frickin stupid asses!

    • BobO says:

Since Nick Diaz will be out of work while suspended, Dana White should hire him as a thug bodyguard. That way, The rich boy, fake Gangster Mayweather will just shut the fuck up if he see’s Dana in Vegas. Otherwise, Diaz would have to whoop that ass! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~BobO

      • HellYeah says:

NOW we’re talking. Forget Dana – let’s see Floyd talk shit to Nick Diaz at some point. That dude does not give a fuck.

  12. Mike says:

Floyd is nothing but a racist coward. He has ducked fighters while they are in their prime his entire career. He will damn sure never fight in a MMA fight because he will get owned just as fast as James Tony did.

    • Dana Rapes Fighters In their CornHoles says:

dana is nothing but a ranting homophobe. let jose aldo step into the boxing ring with floyd and he’ll get owned just as quick as you would you moron mike. it goes both ways genius

  13. Ronald says:

Dana looks funny in that pic. lol

  14. Iiio says:

Does Dana plan to ever say anything about Sonnen and all this insulting remarks to Brazilians? Hypocrisy.

  15. Trevor says:

ha I love how Dana isn’t backing down

  16. GMoney$han says:

Ba ha ha ha ufc boxing and wwe all mixed into one!

  17. stone cold says:

    dw is boss lol

  18. barn says:

props to DW for standing up for what is right. there shouldn’t be any color-lines in any type of sport.

  19. Jon says:

I don’t think that MMA fighters may not be paid as much, it’s that Floyd sissy Mayweather is overpaid for not providing a show.

  20. AK says:

You guys who are mentioning that Dana won’t say anything to Chael about his comments about Brazillians..there is a difference..the thing with Chael is that he isn’t ducking people, not accepting fights and talking shit so he has the reason of saying all this stuff to sell thr fight.

All Floyd is doing is making racist comments for no reason. He really is being a bitch by talking shit and not fighting Pacquiao or trying to set it up. Dana did mention he needs to shut the fuck up and fight Pacquiao..and he has a good point there.

    • Xaninho says:

So according to you, it’s ok for Sonnen to publicly offend another fighter, his wife, his entire country and it’s citizens, just because he doesn’t duck fights? WTF are you thinking? CAN you even think?

  21. Gotahale says:

While I do believe that the UFC should pay their fighters on a more even scale, I stand behind Dana 100% on this. Mayweather is a racist loudmouth who is ducking Pacquiao, and is one of the prime examples of why boxing has been in a steady decline in the last 15 years. That being said, I’m not going to buy another UFC ppv until something is done about the officiating or judging because I’m tired of wasting my hard earned money watching two grown men dance around the octagon or lay on the mat just to get a win. You’re paid to fight, so fight!

  22. mean170 says:

“We’re building a sport while you guys are destroying one”. Those are some of the truest words ever spoken. No response for that. Well played.

  23. Lupe Lomas says:

Mayweather is a scared little bitc&. He is making unreasonable demands so Pac won’t take the fight. I’m sure he wants the money for his ghetto legal fees. Quit punking out and fight Floyd.

  24. BobO says:

    “Boxing is dead” ~nietzsche

  25. deepcountrykauai says:

Dana’s the man..he’s been around for a long long time before MMA and will be around for a long long time…

  26. Dick Diaz says:

    lmaooo that was funny.

  27. bill says:

floyd’s manager should stfu and try and keep his fighter from goin to jail

  28. Floyd is such an easy target. It’s like smacking a special needs kid around.

  29. Cori Jo says:

GO DANA! YOU ARE MY HERO!!

  30. Jeff says:

It seems silly to me to compare a sport that is 150 or more years into it’s existence to a sport that has been around for only about 20 or so. Let’s take a look at both sport’s pay at a relatively similar time in their development…

Boxing’s Marquess of Queensberry rules, under which the sport has since been governed, were published in 1867, although the sport was around long before this, we can use this as a starting point

In 1882, 15 years later HW champ “John Sullivan” fought Paddy Ryan and earned $5,000, 28.9 times the national average wage…. he also had to put up $2,500 for the fight, winner take all, his opponent HW Champ at the time LOST 28.9 times the national average wage that night!! For those non math geeks out there, net fighter pay for that ‘event’ was $0….

UFC1 was in 1993, MMA’s unified rules were published in 2000
In 2010, only 17 yrs after UFC 1 and 10 years after Unified Rules in place (split the difference and we are at a similar relative time)

UFC HW champ Brock Lesnar fought twice earning (with sponsorships) $5.3 million, which between his 2 fights is 63.5 times the national average income per fight

avg annual income- (varies a bit depending on source)
    1880s- $345
    2011- $41,673

They are two different things, so it wont be exact, but the UFC ain’t doing all that bad or paying out all that bad for a growing sport. Sullivan surely made other money, but no records I know of exist, or not that I’m going to waste time finding. The UFC takes money and puts it back into the growth of it’s product. Seems like a decent plan for the long term success of a business.

  35. GET RID OF FITCH says:

Can’t stand Floyd but he is right Dana is ripping off UFC fighters. Floyd is afraid of Manny

  36. dom#1 says:

Dana vs Mayweather my moneys on Dana

  37. JOSH says:

Love Dana White but he does need to shut the fuck up. He keeps bringing up floyd in every interview he does. Dana talks a lot of shit for not be a fighter. He should just worry about his business and thats it. And for him to say that they are killing their sport is stupid. Boxing has been losing its luster for a long time and it has nothing to do with mayweather.

  38. Thetude says:

floyd is afraid of manny for sure, did you see what manny did to cottos face last time, floyd probably thinks he is too pretty to tangle with the Manwich
