Dana White Poised To Make Decision On Bantamweight Title If Champ Cruz Doesn’t Return Soon

UFC bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz has been on the shelf since his 2011 win over Demetrious Johnson.

The true champion has been plagued with injuries and been forced to look on at his division while Renan Barao sports the interim title.

On today’s UFC 165 pre-fight media conference call the UFC boss, Dana White said that he hopes the co-main event next week is the last interim title fight for the bantamweight champion.

Here it is:

“I certainly hope this is the last time we’re doing the interim title. We’re expecting his return at the beginning of the year, and if he can’t return at the beginning of the year, then we’re going to have to make a decision. He came in here a few weeks ago and had lunch with me and Lorenzo, and he was very confident he’d be ready to go at the beginning of the year.”

Cruz should’ve lost the belt the day he fought Mighty Mouse. Cruz lost that fight hands down, but was gifted by the judges. He hasn’t been champ in my eyes ever since.

  2. Nate & GSP both ROID CHEATS (FOREVER) says:

All Mini Mouse did when he fought Cruz is what he does in every fight and that is run away 99% of the time.

I’m a huge Cruz fan but its time to take away the belt. With todays surgical technology and the fact that I have also had an ACL/MCL and 90% of my cartlidge removed in the early 90’s NOONE should need more than say 6 to 9 months tops to recover from ROUTINE ACL injury as Cruz’s. YES we all know GSP MILKED his partially torn ACL for over 2 years but fact is anyone else should be back in 6 months. My surgeon told me I had the worst blown ACL he had ever seen and I wss on the table close to 6 hours and had to get anesthesia 3 times because the MRI that the doctor used to plan my surgery was over 2 years old and I had damaged it much much worse since then. I was back running full speed with my knee stronger than ever in 3 months.

The colleg kid that plays D-1 football down the block in mu subdivision was back in 4 months and on the field playing the entire game at halfback so all you clowns can tell me that GSP needed 10 years for his partially torn ACL or Cruz needed 3 years but fact is they have lost all confidence in themselves and that is why they both are takin g so long. In GSP’s case he needed to get FULLY ROIDED/JUICED up and fight his 5th straight fight in Canada with NO PED testing.

I disagree, I had Mighty Mouse winning

  4. KIDD433 says:

What Cruz did mainly was dance and move around like a retard and make himself look more active than he was.
