Dana White on Cyborg v Rousey: “She will not fight Cyborg.”
Dana White is done hearing about Cyborg.
With all of the recent back and forth between him, former Strikeforce women’s featherweight champion, Cristiane Justino, and UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, it’s actually been a little confusing keeping up with what may or may not be happening. However, Dana put the record straight in a recent interview with BT Sport:
“No. The Cyborg thing, I can’t believe people are asking me about Cyborg, number one. First of all, she does not fight here. Everybody realizes that, right? See weighs 145 pounds and her genius manager, Tito Ortiz, said that she would die if she went to 135 pounds. She’s also coming off a steroid suspension last time she was here. I can’t even, it drives me nuts. She will not fight Cyborg. I don’t know who she’s going to fight. She’s going to go film ‘Entourage,’ the movie, and then we will figure out what’s next for her.”
Even with these statements from the UFC frontman, Cyborg seems to still be interested in making moves that may get her closer a December fight with Rousey and in the UFC’s good graces.
After an almost TOO long stint with Tito Ortiz, Cyborg has dropped the UFC Hall of Famer from her management team and is planning to test out the 135-pound division.
As for things we do know, Cat Zingano is still next in line for Rousey, if she can be ready by the summer. If Zingano is still out, the next best choice right now is Alexis Davis, who is on a five-fight win streak.
