Dana White: “Jon Jones vs. Anderson Silva Is a Big Fight” – Likes Bisping vs. Silva Also | UFC NEWS

“I think Anderson Silva is one of those guys, I mean, he’s broken every record in UFC history, I think he’s gonna get to the point where he wants to challenge himself and try new things. Try Georges St. Pierre, try Jon Jones… I mean, Jon Jones and Anderson Silva obviously would be a big fight, GSP/Anderson would be a big fight. I’ve got to be honest with you, I like Bisping vs. Anderson. I think that Bisping doesn’t get the credit he deserves for as good of a fighter as he is. I’ve always thought Bisping looked good. I’ve always thought his wrestling was way underrated, I thought his striking was underrated. The guy had one big loss to [Dan] Henderson in his entire career, and because of his personality, and the way that he is, people like to stick it to Bisping. Bisping’s awesome.”
UFC president Dana White talked to the media a lot yesterday and did so on some very intriguing topics.
Surprisingly he threw out Michael Bispings name when discussing possible title challengers for Anderson Silva. Could this be due to the fact that the majority of the reporters in attendance are British or is White genuine with his proclamation?

I’d say Bisping deserves the title shot, although he is a point fighter, but Anderson will mow him down no problem. Bisping won’t be able to hold Silva down and Silva is obviously too good on his feet. Jones would be a bigger fight than GSP because he’s been more active and has actually finished fights, but both Jones and Silva have said they wouldn’t fight each other… then again so did Rashad and Jones… we shall see.
jones to slow paced. anderson would irritate him like a wasp
michael bisping will suprise alot of people when he fights anderson silva.
Lmao…. sure he will cause Dana the Dikc says he’s awesome!!!!!
Bisping lost to Hamill. Hamill got ****ed in the UK. **** Bisping, he sucks donkey shlong.
@123 you’re right Bisping will surprise alot of people. He will get knocked out alot faster than people think.
That is probably the decision robbery that makes me the angriest in UFC history.
Don’t worry though, Silva will kill him Fitch-Hendricks style
At least Dana acknowledges he’s a huge douchebag, but I’m gonna have to disagree with him. His striking isn’t that great and his wrestling isn’t that great. It’s not bad, but it’s certainly not super top-level. Almost everyone he has defeated is not that good of a fighter (despite Matt Hamill, but we all know Hamill was robbed of that decision to give a Brit a win.) Silva will murder him, hopefully Fitch-Hendricks style
Only ine judge was british in that fight and he gave the fight to hamil. Yeah it may have been the wrong decision but it wasnt to ‘give the brit’ a win. Just one of those things. And in any event bisping didnt make the choice it wasnt his fault. So get over it
& bisping got ****ed in the usa, when he beat sonnen
I have to agree, I think Bisping deserves his shot, I wouldn’t say it’s long over due, but it’s due. As far as Superfights. We’ll have to see where GSP is after his fight with Condit and if he’s as good as he was, he may be better. Jones vs. Silva would be a good fight and can finally put to rest who deserves to be #1 P4P but both fighters are aware they could lose that fight easily (though I do believe Silva would win, desicivly Jones has proved to be pretty determined and focused). That being said I don’t think either fighter wants to risk a loss at this point, just as I believe the UFC doesn’t want either fighter losing, specially in a non-title match against different weight classes. I think to the point with GSP, there’s already an intrem champ and not many people care if he loses at this point because he’s been out the game so long. Not many people give him much a chance anyways and already view Silva the winner of the respective match-up (I do at least). Fighting as we all know is a competition, one person wins, one person loses. Jones/Silva is a big gamble, if Silva wins Jones got beat by someone smaller that isn’t even in his weight class, if Jones wins, the main argument against Silva not facing top competition will be proved and could potentially kill what little prestige the Middle weight division has left. Yet if Silva wins he proves he’s just that damn good. GSP/Silva isn’t so much of a gamble as it is a calculated risk. Silva will most likely win and prove almost nothing. Should GSP win it just proves Silva’s weakness, which we all already know.
That’s just my opinion though we could see Jones/Silva probably more towards the end of Silvas career or closer. Who knows, if a superfight happens though expect GSP/Silva. GSP however will be busy if he wins against Condit (no one would care about the superfight if he lost anyways) and Silva is having a list of challangers himself (which will only thicken with his next fight at LHW). I wouldn’t expect a superfight at all but I may be suprised. Guess we’ll find out.
dana white only wants american fighters to fight anderson silva, in the hope 1 day sum1 from america will beat him. how biased can u get… chris leben, rich franklin x2, chael sonnen x2, forrest griffin, stephan bonnar & all the other american middleweights he’s beat pretty easily.
Obviously, Dana is planning on matching Bisping with Silva next as you can see him already trying to promote it and trying to make it sound like it would be a good fight before making it happen. Bisping has zero chance against Silva and it wouldnt be exciting in my opinion, Bisping isnt exciting in my opinion, lets move on, Silva vs St Pierre, make it happen!
I say throw Bisping in there and feed him to the lion!
I’d rather watch that instead of Silva vs Bonnar simply because I like to watch Bisping get his British @rse kicked inside out.
There is never going to be a “super fight”. It could have happened many times before and hasn’t..Dana won’t EVER do it… bottom line. If it ever happened between silva and gsp or Jones it will be one of their retirement fights after they have lost a few times….people keep.talking about it, but Dana white doesn’t care what the paying customer wants. He never has.
DW wants to give the fans what they want. I’m glad he doesn’t mention Cries Whineman.
Love him, hate him . Atleast people have an opinion on Bisbing . Whatever you think he deserve a title shot, he’s been in the top 5 for a long time now . I’d be surprised if he has the power to stop silva , but he has a slim chance of out pointing Silva IF it goes the distance. Silva will be the massive favourite and rightly so .
look at franke edgar vs bj penn… u never know what will happen so shut up being slags because hes british.
Sonnen was one of the only fighters thats really came close to beating Silva, In my opinion Bisping beat Sonnen in their fight so How is Bisping really that bad??
I think your just a bunch of keyboard warriors really and not true MMA fans… If you really knew the sport then you would know that he is a good fighter…
