Dana White Has No Plans To Strip Cruz Of Title | UFC NEWS

It seems that UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz, who has been sidelined since 2011 with back to back ACL injuries, will retain the belt despite his extended absence.
While many would argue that the title should be stripped after over a year away from the sport, Dana White has other plans for the champion at 135. See what he has to say about the situation below:

Damn, sounds like DW has given up on Cruz.
If Dom keeps getting injuries like this, then that would suck if he had to retire so young.
For once I actually agree with Dana, the only reason any champion should be stripped is if they fail a drug test. What they did to BJ was total bull, even a contract dispute shouldn’t entitle anyone to be stripped, if you are no longer in the UFC you are no longer a UFC champion point blank, but to strip a person is just bull. This also means you must defend the championship, and in a case where a fighter still under contract with fights remaining keeps refusing to fight ANYONE then you should strip them, but injury related (UFC doctor verified)withdraws should not lead to the stripping of a belt,
Cruz is gunna get his legs kicked out when he gets back into the cage with bararo. yeah dude is pretty much done.
GSP was out for 19 months and NEVER was there one word about stripping his milking a’ss. 7-10 months MAX with NO REHAB and GSP had the best possible rehab money could buy and he still MILKED it for 19 months. At least Cruz wants to fight. All GSP talked about was how hewasn’t sure if he still had the fire left. Thanks to Matt Serra
