Dana White Gives His Thoughts On Richie Incognito
Richie Incognito, the NFL Miami Dolphins Offensive Guard, has come under fire recently for racial comments that he had left on Dolpin’s Offensive Tackle Jonathan Martin’s voicemail, and has been accused of bullying in the media.
Just like everyone else in the mainstream sports media, Dana White had an opinion, saying the whole situation “makes me sick.”
“It’s actually embarrassing … I have watched a little bit of it, I haven’t watched it all, but when an NFL lineman is being bullied, give me a fu**ing break. Come on,” he said.
“You take the “N” word out of that, it is a non-starter, OK? … What he really should be slapped around for, is the use of the “N” word,” he said. “That’s what the real situation is.”
Many of Incognito’s teammates have come to his defense, saying that he is not a racist, and that it is just the culture of the NFL locker room.
Dana White though, said, “I hate that word, so bad. … We’re in a situation right now, where the new generation that is coming up, that word could go away,” he said. “When I grew up, it was a different world. There is a chance now for that world to go away.”
“That word needs to go away, and rappers need to stop saying it. There is this whole ‘we can say it but you can’t thing’,” White said. “No. You can’t, because if you say it, my kids are hearing that s***.”
“My kids have never heard that word in my house, and now they are hearing it,” he said.
“I think the whole Incognito situation is more about the “N” word than it is anything else,” White said.
UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones went as far as saying he could easily kill Incognito for his behavior.
