Dana White Confirms Lesnar vs. Overeem Winner Gets Title Shot
“Yeah, it is (a number one contender fight). That’s a crazy fight. Imagine when those two square off at the weigh-ins. It’s going to be awesome. I’m excited for that fight too. I’m excited to see, and I know the fans are too, I’m excited to see what Alistair Overeem has. People can yap and say whatever they want; when these guys come over to the UFC, it’s a whole ‘nother ball game. It’s going to be a real good gauge to find out where Alistair really sits in the heavyweight division. I’d say it’s pretty safe to say (that the winner of Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos will fight the winner of Lesnar vs. Overeem).”

So Dana just confirmed that the Reem WILL fight the winner between JDS & Cain. lmfao
lolz so reem vs. dos santos next year sweeetttt
cains gonna kill jds
Reem will gas out….brock via tko ground n pound in the 3rd round…..
Yah, iono why but I foresee that as well! I mean the obvious advantage of striking goes to Overeem, no doubt about it! But I don’t think he’s ever taken on a HW that’s as fast or athletic as Lesnar! Hmm, Lesnar can’t take a punch worth a damn, but he still hasn’t been truly KO’ed, so his best chances of winning is to just outlast Overeem & avoid all 8 of his appendages! LOL
I do not agree on Brock being right back in contention. I expected Reem to get a shot as existing Strikeforce Champion. No way it should be a #1 contender match. Brock vs. Striker = another loss for Brock.
Wierd, cause Brock’s two losses (well, one, really) both came to ground specialists. Brock has only fought one real striker in the UFC, and what happened? That’s right, Brock via Arm Triangle second round. Not a nut-hugger, just providing the TRUTH.
Haha yea Cain strikes aren’t the best but he rocked lesnar n he turtles up like a bitch… Cain’s one of if not the most well rounded Heavyweight.
The HWT division in the UFC needs a quick infusion of talent. The same guys are constantly fighting for the belt.
The last 5 hwt title fights have been listed here
Ufc 74 randy couture def. Gonzaga
91 brock lesnar def. Randy
100 brock def. Frank mir
116 brock def. Shane carwin
121 cain velasquez def. Brock
Not counting interim title fights i think its safe to say brock deserves a title fight with a win since he was the last man to defend it. Lesnar deserves a #1 contender fight more than overeem!!
Lesnar will loose but suppose he wins the fight against Overeem ….aren’t there any other HW’s with a longer winning streak than 1?
What is so special about Lesnar that his first shot at the belt came after just- what was it?- 3 or 4 fights in the UFC?
I mean wtf why do other fighters like JDS and Cain have to fight themselves through a long winning streak before they get the chance?
That’s bullshit and you know it! Lesnar needs to have a few wins behind his name before he gets his shot again.
Brock has been in the last 4 ufc hwt title fights, he is a beast!!! Everyone knows that any past champions who have successfully defended will get his shot within the next couple fights. Dana owes it to him…
Plus the guy has avenged his first loss to mir, wat make u so sure if cain beats santos it will be an easy win for him again?
overeem FTW!!!
