Dan Henderson Waiting On Title Shot Confirms UFC President

Former PRIDE and STRIKEFORCE champion, Dan Henderson is reportedly willing to wait for the winner of Rashad Evans vs. Jon Jones to return to action.
As announced by UFC president Dana White yesterday, Hendo, after beating “Shogun” Rua in his return to the UFC bout, does not want to risk his place in the pecking order and would rather wait for his title shot.
“Dan Henderson’s in a position right now where it looks like he wants to wait for Jon Jones,” said the UFC president during yesterday’s media event.
“Hendo” last saw action in what has been called one of the best Mixed Martial Arts fights of all time this past November when he and Shogun went back and forth in a five-round war. Dan did more than enough to win the decision and battered the former champion, Shogun, in the process.
It has been long rumored that he would get the next crack at Jon Jones for the UFC light-heavyweight title, however with the Evans victory over Phil Davis last weekend, Dan will now have to wait for his shot and apparently he is o.k. with that.
Jone Jones and Rashad Evans are expected to square off on April 21 in the main event of UFC 145 in Atlanta.

He’s waiting to get beat down by Jones, at least he will get a great pay check out of it.
Exactly, win or lose he’ll make more in that one fight then he has his entire career.
legendary warrior! fix ur damn teeth though hendo
Granite chin but no teeth?…
Who is Jone Jones?
what is mma?
what’s pride, strikeforce and UFC? and who is Dana White?
Hendo is the fkn man..period!
I don’t care if it’s LHW or MW, I want to see Hendo with a UFC belt before he retires.
don’t hold your breath…he has to take out Silva or Jones…not happening.
no chance with anderson
i would like to see him get an opportunity with jon though
Chances are Jones will beat Evans, but seems like Henderson isn’t even taking in consideration Evans could win the fight….anything can happen, he of all people should know that!
Well Hendo could definitely beat Evans.
I don’t like Hendo…I love Hendo. In my honest opinion I truly don’t believe that he will be able to beat Jon Jones. Can he beat him…yes but I don’t think he will. Every time Hendo gets taken down he’s like a turtle, and that just so happens to be Jon Jones’ specialty. Jon Jones is a horrible match up for fighters like Hendo and Rampage because he takes away their striking advantage with his reach then he capitalizes on their weaknesses…ground game. Hope I’m wrong and Hendo lands that big right to capture UFC gold but I feel that it’s very unlikely. Hendo has a better chance at defeating Anderson Silva in a rematch for the MW belt. I don’t know what do you guys out there think?
Mick – I agree, Hendo is a legend to me but I don’t see him beating Jones, he doesn’t look good when he’s on his back and jones would take him down easily. Just look at the Shields fight…His best chance of a belt is at 185lb with a rematch against Silva or a fight against Chael depending on how that goes…..
How is ground game Hendo’s weakness? Not being a dick just asking.
because he has no bottom game. just top game and escapes. and he also has a suspect gas tank. Being forty and being on the bottom in the ufc with a weak bottom game and a suspect gas tank=result of shields vs Henderson.
Sheilds got so lucky that he didn’t get the same Hendo that fought Shogun. Idk what was going on in that fight.
It’s a fight fans of both fighters want to see. Outside of Rashad and maybe down the line a re-match with Mahcida its about the only challenge for Jones out there. Phil Davis was the up and comer everyone was talking about but after the Rashad fight I think it’s fair to say Jones would destroy him, other than him maybe that Alenxander Gustafsson in the future if he develops. He looks pretty handy. No wonder Jones was talking about top 10 HW match ups…
I’d rather see Hendo drop back down to MW and go for a run at the belt, he stands a better chance at taking out Silva or Sonnen. IMO he doesnt have a hope in hell at dethroning Jones, I don’t think he’d even take Rashad.
what happen to his teeth?
He’s a fighter, must have lost em during the course of his career.
I’ll give Hendo two rounds to get the jump on Jon Jones when they meet before he loses the wind in his sails. If Hendo can land punches like Machida did in the 1st round, I’d say Jon Jones will be defeated.
Love hearing people say that an Olympic wrestlers weakness is his ground game lol but he is pretty useless off his back
Also my moneys on Rashad against Jones, bones has ducked him so Evans has mental edge, plus he’s awesome at closing distance quickly
Yeah Evans’ stand-up has improved so much! He’s been training with Tyrone ‘King of the Ring’ Spong and it’s showing.
