Dan Henderson Doesn't Think Anderson Silva Wants To Fight Him Again
“You’d have to ask Anderson Silva [why a rematch wasn't booked for the inagural UFC on FOX event] . I don’t think it was close at all because I don’t think he wants to fight me. It was something that was talked about and I said, “Sure, no problem, I’ll do that.” I’d cut down to 185 to fight him, but nobody else. He’s [probably the guy I want to rematch most], especially because of the way he fights most of the time. He just seems disrespectful to his opponents and the fans at the same time.”
In a recent interview with his very own “Clinch Gear Radio”, Dan Henderson goes on record and implies that the UFC middleweight champion may have done a minor tuck and run job when approached about re-matching Dan inside the UFC Octagon.
Or, it could be the fact that Anderson Silva has disclosed a shoulder injury that will keep him out of action until next year, making a fight on Fox with Dan Henderson impossible due to his rehabilitation of the injury…
However, if “Hendo” is right, is Anderson’s unwillingness to fight him due to the shoulder or fear of loss?

Just think about what you said for a minute. Why would you deserve a re-match when you “dominated” a fight and then you get beat. And not just beat but you get finished. And not just finished you give tap out. And in Sonnen’s case you cheat and you lose, you definitely don’t get a re-match.

Anderson Silva is a great fight and one of a kind, but he is big on avoiding fights. How many years did he avoid Chael Sonnen? Chael Sonnen lost, but he broke Anderson. Dan would do the same thing with that power and wrestling. Dan lost as well, but Hendo has improved and wants to fight, why not? Gsp has been through the Welter Weight division once and going through it again, Anderson is scared to go back through.

Despite Sonnen roiding up for that fight, Anderson still won. Look, Silva isn’t just on a winning tear, he’s video game highlighting. Best footwork and accuracy in the game. Sonnen might say he wants another go, but without the juice he’s not going into the 5th again.

First off if Hendo really wanted a rematch, he would have signed a new contract after his last 3 fights with the UFC instead of wanting way too much money for knocking out bisping. When Anderson respects his opponent, he trains hard, works on a game plan and dominates. It’s scary.
IMO he didn’t view Sonnen as a threat and didn’t prepare properly, in a rematch, let take the Roids, Anderson will be prepared, and he will impress. His most impressive fights are against the best fighters.
I’ll take a lot of heat for this, but there are maybe 8 fighters, in all of UFC ( WW, MW, LHW, HW) who would beat Silva.
As for GSP, he’s incredible, but a fight against Jon Jones would be more I treating to me

What I meant was that there are maybe 8 Total ( not per weight) who potentially could do it. They might not win, but they stand a fair chance.

JDS, Velasquez, Lesnar, Jones, Machida, Mir, Carwin.
Carwin on size, wrestling ability to take a whoopin.
Mir’s got 80 lbs on the guy, and is still a good fighter.
Machida would be a boring fight, but they’re both so fast.

Other 3 Are big, fast, and won’t get dropped as easily as Forrest, despite Andersons outrageous speed and accuracy.
I could be wrong, Silva take-down defense could be better than I think, and he might use his speed to open up a flurry on the HW’s.

Dan at 205 can give anyone a run for their money, if he were to fight Anderson at LHW i think he takes it, at 185 im not so sure.. he has a hard time making the cut. Do i think he has a chance? yes, i think Hendo could, but Silva would have a much better chance at 185. He lost to Shields, but he also had a back injury and could barely train, he just didnt want to pull out of the fight. Regardless Dan is a monster and a legend, hes not scared to fight anyone and has proved it. It wasn’t “slightly” higher it was alot higher. The reason it was higher is because steroïd users normal testosterone levels decrease substantially, due to the fact the body’s own testosterone production slows down or completely stops during steroïd use.
To overcome that steroïd users get TRT(Testosterone Replacement Therapy). But it’s hard to get it to exactly to “normal” levels, so luckily the cheaters (Sonnen, Marquardt)get caught when that happens.
It was Definitely not a lot higher.. I watched the entire suspension hearing with the NSAC when all this first happened, they gave exact levels.
Chael Sonnen tested for “well above normal levels of testosterone,” according to CSAC executive director George Dodd.
“Well above”, is nothing like “slightly”. To me well above means he had a considerable abnormal high testosterone level.

I’ll tell you how it was “lucky”. After Hendo had delivered a powerful punch, that we all somehow missed, Silva fell into a heap on Hendo’s back. Then, because of the power of the punch, Silva went into a seizure which caused his arms to shake violently and wrap themselves around Hendo’s neck and squeeze. Hendo wasn’t tapping out, he was trying to get Silva’s attention to see if he was alright or needed medical attention. The ref just misunderstood the tapping gesture.
LOL Anderson will leave him looking like a stomped on lizard just like he did the 1st time, Hendo’s “save me” face was priceless..

I believe dan can knock anderson out. when Henderson is healthy he is a beast and Anderson knows it. I believe he knows dans punching power and if he is really hurt he is being smart by not fighting til he is healthy again because it would take all he’s got for him to beat henderson now. Dan Henderson is healthy and most of all the mental strength is back and when he is like that he is unbeatable.
At middleweight, Hendo has no chance. The cut is simply too great a strain on the old veteran’s body. If Hendo and Silva re-matched at 185, I’d go as far to wager that Hendo would lose in even worse fashion than the first time they met. It’d be a complete and total beatdown.
205, however, is a much more intriguing weight class for this match to take place in. Suspect cardio aside, Hendo has demonstrated a power and resilience that (in my eyes) places him on an even playing field with the best that the LHW division has to offer. Yes, this does include current champion Jon Jones, but that’s a discussion best saved for another time. Getting back on track, I would wager that Hendo would only be triumphant against Silva if he managed to land a flush H-bomb in the initial three rounds. Although Anderson has demonstrated that he, too, possesses a granite chin, anyone can get knocked out. This applies to Hendo as well, however, so a stand-up war with the Spider is definitely a double-edged sword.
I simply do not want to witness this re-match take place at 185. It would be a waste of time and money. In my opinion, Hendo just doesn’t have a chance at that weight class against Silva. That division belongs to the Spider and probably always will.
unfortunately for hendo silva is too quick for him and would pick him apart. the only time hendo looked to be winning v anderson is when he took anderson down. i wouldnt mind watching it again but i think the outcome would be no different.
