Dan Henderson believes Anderson Silva manipulates the UFC | UFC NEWS

With all the coverage this week being focused on the debut of the UFC’s Women’s Bantamweight Division at UFC 157, lost in the shuffle is the Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machida fight. Henderson has made it very clear that he is not happy about his fight, one that pits two of the top contenders in the Light Heavyweight division, not being the Main Event.
Henderson may now be taking those frustrations out on an old opponent; Anderson Silva. MMA Interviews got a great video interview of Henderson discussing how he feels Silva has been manipulating the UFC and choosing his opponents.
“I think Anderson, for the last five years, has tried, tried to pick and choose who he fights and manipulates the UFC a little bit. You know, he didn’t want to fight Chael again, after the first time. Obviously, he did after a while. You know he didn’t want to fight me again. He kind of tries to stay away from guys that are dangerous or have a dangerous style for him, especially because he’s looking toward the end of his career and he wants to retire without losing again. It’s not necessarily how a champ should be, but at the same time, he’s trying to be smart about things. It’s all debatable.”
As Henderson mentioned he was slated to fight Anderson Silva in a rematch for the Middleweight championship after knocking out Michael Bisping at UFC 100. Negotiations broke down between the UFC and his management team, and he eventually went to sign with Strikeforce where he won the Light Heavyweight championship. Henderson came back to the UFC after they bought out Strikeforce. He makes no qualms about it; he would fight Silva again.
“He’s probably the only guy I would drop for, but I think that I’m very comfortable at 205, and there’s plenty of guys for me to fight there. We’ll see what happens in the future, but yeah, I don’t plan on losing it at 205 at all.”

Who hasn’t Anderson fought then? He’s fought every legit contender there’s ever been, and will probably fight Weidmann next. Both GSP and Jones were never in a real position to fight him either so don’t give me that bs. Truth is, if the UFC really wants to make a superfight they could do it.
If Anderson didn’t want to lose his perfect record he would fight Jones for his title, or even anyone with some credability at 205. Neither of those will ever happen, and honestly I wish he would fight for the 205 belt because I think he could be the first person in the UFC to hold 2 belts.
He aught to re-watch his fight with Anderson, he got on top in round 1 and did nothing, then got his ass handed to him in round 2. Machida will beat him anyway
blah blah
Bitter? Why would he fight you again? He ate your h bomb and laughed and then choked you out.
I think he is still dizzy from when Anderson choked him the **** out!
You know you could have fought for the LHW belt if you weren’t injured.
Dan Henderson annoys me because He was angry with Dana for not giving him a title shot. He willingly went to Strikeforce and missed weight and loss to Jake Shields, and was forced to move to 205. When he came back to the UFC he chose to stay at 205. I like Hendo and think that he is an amazing athlete, but I don’t like slandering someone’s image over nonsense, especially when he can’t make weight. If he really wanted to be at 205, he would have taken a fight or two at 185, but he hasn’t taken a fight because he can’t…you know the rest. Also it doesn’t even matter if Anderson didn’t want to fight Chael Sonnen, he fought him and beat him twice.
Silva: hey Lyoto come here
Machida: what’s up
Silva: knock the seance back into hendo he must of lost his mind after I chocked him.
Machida: haha fine Ill treat him like Randy and make him retire
wait a minute! who here accomplished what dan has? exactly, so stfu and don’t say the man is right or wrong just respect his opinion because if someone has the right to criticize a silva it’s dan henderson, stfu and fuk off
nop, Anderson choked him the **** out!
get the **** outa here with that butthurt shit.
I know Anderson manipulated Hendo into tapping out after he almost became the 1st guy to ko Hendo.
LMAO!
Anderson Silva never refused to fight. Sure he expresses his opinion about who he wants next, but that doesn’t mean he manipulates the UFC. It’s a free world he can say whatever the fuk he wants!
