Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans Slated for UFC 161 | UFC NEWS

The UFC is targeting a matchup between former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans (17-3-1 MMA, 12-3-1 UFC) and former Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson (29-9 MMA, 6-3 UFC) for UFC 161.

UFC 161 will take place at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada.

While this matchup was confirmed by Dana White, it is still not set in stone as Henderson has not yet received medical clearance.

Both fighters are coming off losses as Dan Henderson recently lost in a Split Decision to Lyoto Machida at UFC 157. Henderson was supposed to face Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title in UFC 151 but had to pull out due to a knee injury. Rashad Evans is currently trying to end a two-fight losing streak. Evans’ two losses were both Unanimous Decisions, one in a title fight to Jon Jones and the other to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

The combined three losses by both fighters were very disappointing fights for the fans, as far as excitement goes. With the UFC recently bringing down the hammer on lackluster fighters, both fighters may feel the pressure to not let this one go to a decision.

anything with Rashad has boring written all over it. and with Machida lately as well. sux for Hendo cuz he actually likes to fight.

      • 757 says:

Especially when he knocked out chuck, stopped Tito, schooled Rampage, was the champ. Yeah he is boring you ****ing idiot. Another well thought out observation by GRT3000. I guess when he beats Hendo you will come up with some other goofy observation. I guess it’s not your fault you probably were still a little kid when he fought chuck……stupid

like someone said Rashad has nothin. I think he lost it after fighting Jones or something . he’ll run but Dan will catch him. Either by decision or ko Dan will win. Rashad needs to step up don’t play patty cake n fight or leave the ufc. Not even has my respect anymore he needs to get outta the 205 division if u ask me. KO him o r jus et the win hendo.
