DaMarques Johnson, Not Rich Attonito Set To Fill Vacancy Against Gunnar Nelson | UFC NEWS

Earlier today we reported a booking for UFC on FUEL TV 5 between Rich Attonito and Gunnar Nelson.

This afternoon BJPENN.COM has learned that the vacancy left by the injured Pascal Krauss will now be filled by the always tough DaMarques Johnson.

Johnson last saw action when he welcomed back Mike Swick to the UFC at UFC on FOX: Shogun vs. Vera this past August. The defeat marked his third in four-fights and puts him in a must win situation in this latest booking.

DaMarques now faces Nelson, who makes his UFC debut while sporting an undefeated record. After going to a draw in his mma debut, Nelson has now won nine consecutive fights, all by way of stoppage. The Renzo Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt, who also holds a karate black belt, has been fighting in the European fight circuit, but has fought just once since late 2010.

UFC on FUEL TV 5 is set for September 29 at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England. The main card airs live on FUEL TV following the prelims on Facebook. The event is headlined by a heavyweight bout between Stipe Miocic and Stefan Struve.
