Cyborg: ‘Weight Cut For Friday’s Fight Easiest Of My Career’
Last Friday, Jorina Baars handed Cris Cyborg the first loss of her young Muay Thai career (Full replay HERE), in what is being touted as the greatest women’s MMA fight ever. While that is usually a pretty disappointing moment in a fighter’s career, Cyborg has found a silver lining in that cloud. As always, she still has Ronda Rousey on her mind and told MMAFighting.com that making this last weight cut was surprisingly easy—and that’s a good sign for a potential match-up with the UFC Women’s bantamweight champ.
“I normally walk around at 160. This is the first time I made 145 with no sauna and no [problems],” Cyborg told MMAFighting.com. “First time. My diet changed, my training has changed, and you know, for the first time I was scared, because always before my fights I suffer so bad.
“But I did very good work, trained hard. I did everything healthy.”
Despite the fact that no one seemed to be overly excited about her entering the UFC anytime soon, she seems to still be making all of the appropriate moves to eliminate any doubts and excuses.
“I’m ready for anybody,” she said. “I never say no.”
