Cung Le Open To Anderson Silva Fight | UFC NEWS
“If the UFC wants me to fight after our discussion, I’m totally open for it. For me, I don’t mind either way. I’m just happy that I’m in the mix. There’s a lot of great fighters out there. Chris, Luke Rockhold is another name that people should watch out for. I’m open for whatever. Whether it’s fighting, coaching or doing movies. If the fight would ever happen, I wouldn’t be scared because he’s pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world. I’d be excited to see how I do, whether I get beat up or whatever. It doesn’t matter. That’s why we compete. That’s why we challenge ourselves. That’s what makes us who we are, and I love the challenge.”
On yesterday’s edition of “The MMA Hour” UFC middleweight fighter took his time on the air to address the recent statements from Silva’s camp that they would like to fight him.
Would the former Strikeforce champ have a chance against the pound-for-pound king?

This guy lost to wandy and he’s a shadow of his former self I mean look at the leben fight. Cung would have probably lost too rich too if he still had a chin. I think Bonnar stood a better chance against cung lol. He’s just too slow silva would toy with him.
He was clearly not in shape for the Wandy fight… he gassed out and looked uncomfortable. He would destroy Wandy in a rematch as he will with most of the middleweights. I wouldn’t be too quick to count Cung out. It’s a VERY interesting matchup! more interesting than a lot of people realize!
Cung Le needs to be more confident about his abilities. His response seems like he’s already given up, expecting to get his butt kicked.
Its called being RESPECTFUL.. he’s not a cocky guy!! That does not mean he doesn’t think he can beat Silva, like he said he’s up for the challenge. He’s not about “talk” he’s about putting FEET to JAWS as he has showed us many times.
it’s called being realistic. cung is so humble he acknowledges the difference in abilities between him and anderson, instead of “drinking his own kool-aid” so to speak.
Anderson should just vacate his title if he only wants to pick & choose special fights. It’s not right that actual contenders are being overlooked. Plus, fighting once a year is total bs, & this is coming from an Anderson silva fan
When was the last time he only fought once a year? He fought chael mid summer then moved up on short notice and I believe 14 days in the gym and fought bonnar? Sooo you’re dumb.
which contenders though guy?! he’s cleaned out the division a couple times over already. There is no clear contender – let these ****ers duke it out until one emerges and THEN they can face the champ.

I cannot believe anybody is even taking this would be match up seriously. Cung Le? Are you ****ing kidding me? The only way that fight lasts even 3 minutes is if Silva is paid to make it last that long or if he just dances around like an idiot like he did with Maia. Le isn’t even in the same universe as Silva. He doesn’t have the tools and he has ZERO chance. The only one in the division that makes a sensible and entertaining fight is Weidman.
Enough with the weidman shit. If you have some common sense you’d realize that weidman name is being put up there only cuz he advertises himself for the title so much. That doesn’t mean he deserves it. Business is business and the way it looks nowadays its the guy that advertises himself the most gets the most opportunities. Looks like the ufc it’s trying to create more audience. And it makes sense. It’s a business after all. But to actually say that weidman deserves the title shot because if his accomplishments. That’s bs. In my opinion he needs a couple more wins before he deserves a shot at the belt. Yeah there are no contenders and we all just wanna see silva fight so in that perspective I agree. Silva should fight. And I also don’t agree with him fighting cung lee. But I did hear that Silvas mgmt. is calling out rockhold. Him being the former champ of strikeforce and being as big as silva in height and reach and younger with a really good record may be a good fight. I don’t know much about the guy but sounds good on paper.
@ badintentions. Hey man I didn’t mean to call you like that. Just that everyone talks so great about weidman when he hasn’t really been put to the test. He’s a good fighter but its really hard to say how good when his biggest fight its been against Muñoz. Not to take any accomplishments from muñoz. But I’m just saying to ask for a shot at the belt like that. I think you need more to back you up.
I believe Cung Le when he says he’s not scared to step in the cage with Silva. But he’ll certainly lose within 1 minute.
As soon as he’ll try a kick, even an orthodox one, he’ll leave an opening and the spider will get in and put him out.
Don’t be too quick to judge and this would be an awesome fight to watch. After all this is entertainment. Definitely rooting for the under dog
Why not? Anderson Silva is not GOD!!. Hello!! Most of his martial art learn from Asia. Muay Thai,Taekwondo,Judo and you know Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was orginal from Japan. His wrestling is not even as good as Chael sonnen or any Japanese fighters. The biggest advantaged he has is Muay Thai..
Let Cung Le speaks himself. Let them match up and fight like a real martial art. UFC is boring when only see fighters trying using Jiu Jitsu,wrestling to defeat Anderson and the suck part when people are underestimate Cung Le’s abilities. If you look at his all his vid, he could throw the big guy like Anderson down to the the floor. Let that happens..
