Cummins on Cormier bout: “9 days is perfect”

By Evan Stoumbelis

Daniel Cormier’s new opponent for this Saturday’s UFC 170, Pat Cummins spoke to Fox Sports 1 media members at UFC 170’s open workouts on Wednesday about his 9 day long training camp, and how prepared he is for the biggest fight of his career.

“Overthinking a situation is a big deal, especially in this game. You have what, 8-12 weeks to think about your opponent and overanalyze everything? Nine days is perfect.”

Many are counting the 4-0 Cummins out, saying he took the fight just to get his name out there and collect a paycheck. Cummins has a different mindset however:

“That’s not my mindset at all. There’s definitely a lose situation. I come in here expecting to get the win, and that’s the win I want. No matter how it comes, that’s my ultimate goal coming in here. I would have never called out Daniel and said, ‘hey let’s have a fight,’ if I didn’t truly believe that I could win.”

UFC 170 is live from Las Vegas this Saturday and is headlined by Ronda Rousey and Sara McMann.

Fpr Pat “The Barista” Cummins being the baddest coffeemaker in MMA, he’s got the right attitude in fighting to get a paycheck in a beat down. Gotta believe!

  2. UFC 84 Forever says:

Good mindset; I’m hoping for an upset here, nothing against DC, I just gotta root for the underdog here.

  3. therealtweezie says:

I can’t wait for DC to knock this douche out so we can continue to not care who he is, the real issue here is my boy Rashads knee, let’s hope he has a good recovery, this division sucks enough better hope we don’t keep losing the good ones
