Cruz vs. Faber III In The Works For UFC 148

The bantamweight division’s most heated rivalry will be at the forefront of the MMA world once again when Dominick Cruz attempts to defend his title against Urijah Faber in July.

UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta broke the news yesterday via a twitter Q&A session.

The title fight will feature the world’s top two bantamweight fighters in a trilogy match to finally determine who the better man is.

The two originally faced off for Urijah Faber’s featherweight WEC title back in 2007 and Urijah submitted the young Cruz in the very first round. In the second outing the two faced off in a division lower where Cruz reigns as king and Dominick was able to even the score, outpointing Faber in a five-round war.

The UFC has now put the two opposite each other in the upcoming “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series and in the end; they will face off for a third time to complete their trilogy.

UFC 148 is set to go down at The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 7.

  1. jamie says:

Renan barao gets overlooked, i think he would smash cruz or faber

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I think either of these fighters would give him a tough fight. Renan had a tough time finishing Scott Jorgensen. I like Scott but he isn’t better than Faber and Cruz but he is up there in the elite. Renan is also in the elite.

    • Your out of your dam mind.. The Dominator would send that dude back to reality…

    • GET RID OF FITCH says:

noone cares about TEam Alpha midgeT AN Faber fabertism. Faber will have gotten 10 title shots by the time he retires and only FAILED in 9 attempts. gee thats almost as bad as Kenny Floriasn another UNDESERVING title contender who NEVER earned it

  2. Nick says:

I think Barao should get the winner of these guys. The UFC is trying so hard to get Faber to be the 135 champ.

  3. John M says:

I hope Faber not only takes his belt, but also his pride and any other thoughts that he is a top level fighter.

  4. mma is my religion says:

    Faber has this one…..

  5. Hjortur Halldorsson says:

OK I was not that interested in this TUF live show to begin with, but now my interest has gone down to almost zero. This ****ing sucks!
