Coach: Anthony Pettis Won’t Fight For 8 More Months

“The injury occurred in the title fight in Milwaukee against Benson Henderson. Anthony checked a low kick and the kick slid up and popped his knee. He did some rehab and recovery after the fight, and it looked like that was going to be enough and he was on pace to recover. Unfortunately he took another kick [in practice] in that same position and it really started bothering him.

Dana White flew him out to Las Vegas to get checked out. He just left Los Angeles yesterday and he’s going to be out six months. He’s going to be getting patella surgery December 12.

…It will be three months until we can get active doing certain things. I would say safely, an eight month window until he can fight.”

Bad news for Pettis fans came out today following the release of this exclusive interview with Roufus Sport founder, Duke Roufus.

MMAMania.com’s Steve Borchardt, got Roufus to spill the beans on the UFC champs injury and according to his assesment, Pettis will be out 8 more months!

Interim title or no?

Hardee har har! I hope he never gets healthy… I’ll get my boy Clay Guida to rape his ass again..

    • HAHAHAHAHA says:

Right… beat his ass… that’s totally what happens when Guida cuddles people on the ground for 3 rounds…

      • T.Daddy says:

Who won the fight? Yeah that’s what I thought.. shut the fukk up.. Guida would beat him again and again…

        • Steven Thurman says:

Guida hardly whooped ass, he still won, but it was because takedowns and holding. That being said, Guida doesn’t have the skill to hold a belt in lightweight or feather weight, or even to get the chance to challenge the title holder. Pettis’ skills have improved, Benson Henderson has a much better ground game than Guida and he couldn’t get Pettis down either, and when he did, (it was just from stepping in at the same time as a fancy kick) he was submitted. Mean while Guida dropped down to Featherweight and got his ass beat by Mendes. Who has the belt? Yeah thats what I thought.. Pettis.

        • Ddddddddd says:

Your comparing a relevant successful fighter to an irelivent fighter. What’s your point?

    • UFC 84 Forever says:

      Amen

    • magoo says:

Why all the hate for Pettis? U hope he never gets healthy WTF? Ur boy Guida! now that’s some funny sh@t… Lmao

    • Sasquatch says:

You’re one sad excuse for a MMA fan.. you’d rather watch a guy dry-hump the sh!t out of someone then KTFO of someone??? I know you’re a homo and like getting T.Baggy’d daily but f**k man, pull your head out of your @ss!…. never mind, we all know that’s where you like it.

    • Nate "THE ROID CHEAT" Marquardt says:

Just what the UFC needs is another ABSENTEE champ like GSP has been most of his career

GSP milked his knee injury for over 20 months

  2. 757 says:

I agree TDADDY. Say what you want biys but Guida won the fight. Pettis talks allot of shit for a guy who won’t be fighting for the better part of a year after a long layoff prior. Fuck his little ghetto ass. Who cares he won’t be around for a long time

  3. 757 says:

What’s not even funny is comparing Pettis Ghetto boy with the most dominant welterweight champ ever. Pettis is a rookie compared to GSP sorry. GSP has fought and beat the best people out there. Pettis hasn’t…..they can’t even keep him fighting. GTFO

  4. GRT 3000 says:

Love watching this kid fight, but it seems like he’s always hurt. fu(c)kin’ sux. He’s got mad skills but may be too fragile to stay champ.
