CM Punk Leaves WWE, Could Begin MMA Career

Professional wrestler CM Punk (above) reportedly left the World Wrestling Entertainment this week, which some think may kick-start his MMA career.

While many have been speculating on former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s return to MMA and the UFC, it seems that another candidate has emerged to potentially make the transition from professional wrestling to mixed martial arts.

CM Punk has reportedly left World Wrestling Entertainment last week after he felt the company insulted him by leaving him out of a recent stint of WWE’s Monday Night Raw, (full details here).

Just last week, CM Punk did an interview with MMA Fighting where he discussed, among other things, the possibility of his moving to a career in MMA.  And it certainly is possible that UFC President Dana White could use Punk’s notoriety to sell fights.  The trick worked well before when Brock Lesnar joined the UFC, and CM Punk was open to either taking an immediate fight or joining an upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.

Though he lacks the collegiate wrestling experience that Lesnar had, CM Punk has been training Brazilian jiu jitsu for years under Rener Gracie.

the man is known for being good with his money and is financially secure….he started a new workout that is more built around a MMA (lots of cardio) …with that he has plenty of time to actually train and heal up any nagging injuries. He could make a good go of it depending on what natural talent he may possess. I doubt he could make champion but I think he would be a good draw for crowds and could put on a decent fight.

How many fights did Brock Lesnar’s last be for he quit MMA 5 How many fights do you think CM Punk last for until he returns to the Fake Garbage WWE

    • Kenneth Cotton says:

Dipshit that’s because brock lesner lost 2 years of his fighting career due to his extremely serious stumich parasite if it wasn’t for those 2 lost years he would have easily lasted a hell of a lot longer and had a lot more fights

      • Tb1 says:

You can’t call somebody a dipshit if you can’t spell stomach…come on now.

      • XXxxMacleodxxXX says:

it wasn’t a parasite… Diverticulitis is caused by having a high protein, low fiber diet….causes little pouches to form on the intestines (usually large) these pouches fill with undigested food and inflame or get infected. his diet is what made him lose that time.

  3. Deputy Marshal Standing Bull says:

THIS STORY IS SUCH BULLSHIT CONSIDER HE JUST DID AN INTERVIEW A WEEK AGO STATING THAT HE HAD SIX MONTHS LEFT ON HIS CONTRACT AND THAT HE WOULDN’T GO INTO MMA THIS GUY KNOWS WHAT HE IS GOOD AT.

Punk vs Mashima is a dream fight

  6. Scott Tostik says:

If Punk had really left the WWE, his name and picture would be taken off of their roster. He’s still on there so I don’t think there is much validity to this story. It would be awesome to see him come in and do even one fight for the hell of it.
