Chad Mendes Set To Welcome Cody McKenzie To 145 At UFC 148

In the featherweight division there is one stand-out fighter who has risen above the rest. That man is Team Alpha Males Chad Mendes.

The former number-one contender/title challenger boasts an impressive 11-1 record with his only defeat coming at the hands of champion Jose Aldo.

Mendes is now set to return to action at UFC 148 against former UFC lightweight Cody McKenzie, who apparently has decided to pack down a weight-class after picking up a first round submission win this past Tuesday on FUEL TV over Marcus LeVesseur.

The two featherweights will meet at UFC 148.

UFC 148 is set to go down on July 7 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event Chael Sonnen will look to take out the pound-for-pound king, Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title.

The event will air live on pay-per-view.

The full UFC 148 roster as of today looks as follows:

MAIN CARD: (Pay-per-view)
Champ Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen (for middleweight title)
Urijah Faber vs. TBA (for interim bantamweight title)
Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz
Rich Franklin vs. Cung Le
Dong Hyun Kim vs. Demian Maia

PRELIMINARY CARD:

  1. Faaris Sheikh says:

    This card looks freaking amazing!
I have to admit i have to feel a bit sorry for Chad in his last fight he was head lining UFC 142 now he’s sitting in a preliminary card o_O

  2. danielrchargers says:

    wow, so its basically
    Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen
    Urijah Faber vs Renan Borao

    Prelims
Michael McDonald vs Ivan Menjivar? (not announced just a speculation)

  3. danielrchargers says:

and dude i hope Cody chokes this Fitcher out! but im sure he is going to get knocked out due to his non-existent head movement.

  4. aa says:

before renan was upgraded to interim title fight it looked harsh that both him and chad were in the prelims as i’d love to see both those fights, and they don’t show prelims in uk. however, this has potential to be best ufc from start to finish for a long time.
so much at stake in all fights – is maia washed up? can dhk prove he deserves to be considered for title contendership again? is franklin washed up? can cung le kick outside films? is forest still able to brawl? will tito give his legacy a good ending?
i’m eager to see renan kick faber’s ass, but if faber beats him he really does show he’s still at the top of his game after dominating for almost 10years.
and what can we say about chael vs spider that’s not been said? man i’m excited!!!!

  5. Sick Brah says:

Was wondering were Mendes was, been a long time since his last fight.

  6. Artstunna says:

That shows how desperate the 145 div is,Chad vs Cody is the most stupid fight ever,Cody is ok fighter but still a low ranked fighter, and Chad a last fight was for a title, but the rest of the car is bad ass and I like wanderli&Franklin better than vitor oooooouuuuyea!
