Cesar Gracie Explains Why Nick Diaz Wants To Fight Anderson Silva | UFC NEWS

“Nick really wants this fight because he has great admiration and respect for Anderson as a fighter. Anderson Silva is a true martial artist, he studied martial arts, is a great representative of the sport. Nick loves martial arts and that, for him, is enough to put Anderson Silva as the opponent. … I heard Dana White’s statements saying that Nick will have to fight someone before having another chance at the title shot and there are a lot of fighters out there who would love this fight.”
There is at least one welterweight who is drooling over the possibility of facing Anderson Silva, but it’s not GSP.
Cesar Gracie recently told Tatame.com why his star pupil, Nick Diaz, wants to fight the P4P king.

Silva is probably laughing at the idea but i would love to the spider knockout that crybaby asshole. I thought Condit retired that fool anyway. Diaz maybe a martial artist but i can recall seeing a recent interveiw with him and he said “I dont not enjoy fighting for sport or money, Its scary and I’m done”
Yeah, retired him by running away from him. Dumbass
I’d like to see a link to that bs article you just made up.
ill try to find it, it was on this site at one point
http://www.mmatko.com/nick-diaz-doesnt-like-fighting-for-money/ there you go punk, eat those words
He’s saying he doesn’t want to hurt people for profit. I think nick is a deep spiritual thinker. He has a deep concsience and he is starting to sre him is a gladiator in front of a bloodthirsty crowd. Its not a sport were the majority of fans don’t appreciate technique they just want to see people hurt gruesomely. I don’t see that as a fault of his.
Diaz won that fight idiot. Clearly. Rounds 1,2 and 5.
Condit never won that fight. 1st he was scared of death fighting him, that´s why he ran away the hole fight, he know that Diaz never stop until he get you and beat you.
hm, how would you fight nick diaz? The Diaz brothers have the certain boxing philosophy that if they release punches in volume instead of succession to punching power. Im not bagging on their technique because that is how some choose to base their striking on. Theres a certain way to defend and win against boxers like that, its with distance and knowing when to engage and when to restart your stance and angle on the opponent. Its ignorance to say that a fighter was “scarred” based on the way they fought and won against an opponent.
Its not condits fault the judges were absolute morons that nite. we dont hate condits runnin ass even tho he picked a championship caliber fight to sell out to his “natural born killer” shit. we hate the delusional diaz haters who actually think condit won. dumbasses . . .
That fight wasn’t judged properly. In rounds 1 and 2 Condit’s strategy didn’t quite kick into full gear yet. Diaz controlled the pace. Condit lost those 2 rounds in my opinion. In rounds 3 and 4 he was getting in on Diaz with his strategy and I’d give him those rounds. In round 5 Diaz took him to the ground and was dominating him plus made multiple submission attempts trying to finish the fight. Diaz definitely took round 5. This is why I along with many others say Diaz won the fight. On top of that the way the scores were calculated showed bias from the judges like they weren’t really watching the fight. This is an old discussion though so that’s all.
Was he “scarred” or scared? You should be a MMA coach for the best! You sound really, really, really good man!
I think might actually be a good fight! Anderson would still win, but a good fight all the same!
Obviously you didn’t watch the Diaz/Condit fight. Everyone that watched it saw Diaz take 3 outta 5 rounds in probably one of the worst decisions in MMA history. Diaz Vs Silva would probably be a great fight. Anderson is a counter puncher with good bjj, Diaz is a relentless attacker with better bjj. Would make a great fight to watch. Probably the best Silva fight in the last 5 years.
The Condit/Diaz fight was a fair decision and crying about it months later is just dumb at this point. That bein said Silva/Diaz would be a good fight but being a smaller fighter who walks straight forward throwing half power and half speed punches isn’t the best gameplan to beat a fighter who’s faster than you and can knock you out with a jab.
a fair decision? HAHAHAHA what ****in fight did you watch? Diaz was robbed plain and simple!! all Condit did was throw a few ***** leg kicks run backwards a few jabs run backwards some more it was the worse decision call ever! good ol jackson camp crap fighting!
condit outstruck diaz by a pretty good amount if i remember check the fight metrics. condit didnt give the most highlight reel performance, but for me, he did what he wanted to do,he did his gameplan just like he wanted and diaz couldnt do what he wanted to do,he couldnt keep him on the cage couldnt get him down, for me, thats the difference.
it sickens me that ppl actually believe that those lil pitter patter leg kicks hold the same weight as a stiff jab to the face. **** those padded stats outstruck my ass. DELUSIONAL I SAY!
I wouldn’t go that far, not at all. Worst call is probably Zombie/Garcia.
it was Very close could have went either way, but its hard to get a decision when you have less strikes.wouldnt call a fight that close worst decision ever.
condit/diaz i mean. garcia/zombie was definitly a bad call
delusional!! man y’all gna be havin me here all nite tryin to correct ur shit!
Interesting idea, Silva would probably win, but Diaz is more entertaining than some of the fighters Silva has fought, at least Diaz would bring it, as would Silva! I think this would make an entertaining fight! UFC should make it happen.
it doesnt matter if diaz “brings it”. Chael brought it, Bonnar brought it, Griffin brought it, Belfort would have brought it if he didnt swallow silvas foot, haha
+1
Diaz is crazy. Silva would have one of his easiest ever nights. Chasing Silva with his hands down, swinging like he does, would give them both an early night. Getting into any sort of brawl would be such an easy night for Silva.
diaz fought bj who is normally lightweight. anderson knocks ppl out at 205. there would be a huge power difference. wouldnt go past first round.although would be interesting to see how he would finish diaz considering he hasnt been really finished in years. but, we said the same about bonnar who had never been finished, but thats two completely different fighters. i like the fight
shut the hell up, Cesar Gracie…
Diaz has fought at 185 before and has knocked people out. What everyone fails to understand is that although it looks like pawing shots they still have something too them. Diaz is one of the best boxers in MMA and his BJJ is right up there too. It would be an interesting fight. Silva is a monster and outside of a Light Heavyweight coming down to fight him I don’t see anyone beating him. Bonnar hit him as hard as he could and he just shook it off and stood there. Diaz only wins if Silva takes him lightly and gets caught.
The only chance Diaz would have in this fight is on the ground. The problem is that I doubt he can get it to the ground. Standing up Silva’s style is a nightmare for Diaz. As for getting caught, Diaz isn’t a 1 punch knockout type of fighter so that wouldn’t be an issue for Silva who eats hard punches like nothing. On another note though, I’d most definitely tune into it and I’d be more interested in that than Jones/Sonnen.
I love both fighters, they are great to watch and absolutely out of the “norm”.
Personally I think this would be a good fight, Anderson would still win, butttttt Nick would give Anderson hell.
Though another fight to think about would be Diaz vs Sonnen. Imagine that for trash talk?
Anyway I do like the fight, but any real mma fan who watched the Condit vs Diaz fight knows Nick beat his ass, and if they ever rematched I doubt Condit would win because Nick would go full speed and Carlos wouldn’t be able to keep up
full speed? what’d he do the first time go half speed?
1st Condit picked Diaz apart, out struck him in every aspect go check the compubox! The UFC is not a brawl or Kimbo would be a champ! 2nd the fight would last only as long as Anderson wanted Diaz brings NOTHING to the table that The Spider hasn’t already dominated
**** compubox use ur mma eyes u homer. DELUSIONAL
I’m a little bitch and can’t get over the fact that Diaz lost and then he cried like a little girl.
i landed less strikes, didn’t do what i wanted to do, and retired. wahhhhh
Funny how u spit that out with condits nutz in ur mouth. #HATER
Diaz haters are the dumbest mother****ers I’ve ever seen. You must not like when people finish fights? You probably enjoy watching sweaty guys dry hump for the whole fight. The only people that think Nick lost to Condit are haters and complete idiots.
Best Carrer wins for Nick Diaz… BJ Penn and KJ Noons who both are natural 155ers. Paul Daley who is an above average fighter who almost knocked Diaz out and Frank Shamrock who was well past his prime. Hope he fights Kos who will probably Beat him.
KOS stands zero chance buddy. Not a better striker, not a better ground game(go ahead i DARE kos to go to the ground with diaz), definiatly not better cardio. only thing he has is strength. skill trumps strength 9 times outta 10
No matter what anyone thinks… Carlos Condit did beat Nick Diaz. I think that it was a close fight, but at the end of the night, Condit won… If Nick wants to move up and fight for the Middleweight title, great! I do not care for the way Nick Diaz handles things, but I do think he is great fighter and I think he could make a run for that title. Do I think he deserves to be bumped ahead of guys like Micheal Bisping or Chris Weidman? No! I’m not a big Bisping fan either, but I’d say he has put in his dues and won the fights he needed to win to get a shot at the Middleweight title. I personally think that if Nick were to take on some top level fighters and win, he could be in the same spot as Bisping is in; although it looks like Bisping may have to wait for his shot at the title with a GSP -vs- Silva Superfight looming in the distance. Overall, Nick Diaz hasn’t put himself in contention for a shot at Anderson Silva and his Middleweight title
YA and Bradley Beat PACMAN to HUH. LMFAO
Silva vs Diaz = GREATEST DISPLAY OF COMPETITIVE SPORTSMANSHIP EVER! I would pay big money to see this fight happen.
this is a fight i think everyone would love to see, moreso than jones/silva or gsp/silva even. jones/sliva could go eatiher way mabye boring wrestle fight, maybe eciting but i doubt it. silva/gsp gsp will lose worse than sonnens. diaz/silva would be greatest excitment fight period. i honeslty cannot think of a better fight.
anderson has so many weapons against Nick… bad matchup. He ‘ s even better on boxing. taller, longer reach. Don t see any area where Diaz could upset the spider.
It’s kool to see a fighter who actually wants to fight..How good would he do I can’t call it but thats exactly why I would love to see this fight..
One of the worst Decision in MMA HANDS DOWN!!!!
I gotta admit, I’d like to see this fight – even though I know Spidey would waste on him…maybe that’s why. All that being said, Diaz is in no position to challenge him. It’s becoming call out ****in city in the UFC now…thanks for the circus Chael.
condit had diaz completely loss and second guessing everything during there fight. condit literally danced circles around diazed and landed kicks, punches, elbows, and knees the whole fight, and a lot of times AT WILL. diaz fought like a shell of himself, he didnt know there were actually strikers who were smart enough not to fall into his gameplan of just box with ur back against the cage. if condit could make diaz look like what he is, an flat footed one deminsional guy on the feet…then just imagine what anderson would do to him..
not to mention anderson aint shit like anyone diaz has ever fought. the tides would turn for once, diaz would be the one gettin his ass kicked and taunted all around the cage until anderson got done toying with him. i like diaz. but i lost all respect for him when he disrespected bj corner men after the fight, as well as diaz acting like he is such a badass that he could “have finished that armlock had he known he was losing” to condit. dumbest shit ive ever heard.
+100
Both of you are delusional and you are haters. FYI you stupid cunts when 2 guys fight and one guy does nothing but dance and counter, the guy who is engaging gives up something in defense in order to MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN, hence Condit landing more. Let me ask you something stupid, if Condit was better than Diaz why did he abandon the style which gave him success and turn to a style which has labeled him a runner? Did anyone ever call Condit a runner before that fight? NO, because he WAS an aggressive attacker, until he met Diaz. Round after round, all Condit could do in that fight was wait for the time to expire, lucky for him he had great cardio because if those 2 trains did actually meet, Condit would have been knocked into irrelevance.
I didn’t know this article was about Diaz/Condit? Anyway, I’d love to see this fight, strickly because love him or hate him, we all know Diaz is going to bring it and will fight with no fear. He’ll have to get put to sleep by Anderson to stop him from coming forward. Most guys get hit once by Silva and start to fight scared. I don’t see it happening with Nick, and that’s a prescription for a potential war.
