A heavyweight scrap between Rashad Coulter and Tai Tuivasa took place during tonight’s UFC Fight Night 121 prelims in Sydney, Australia. Round one begins and Coulter immediately shoots in for a takedown attempt. He pushes Tai up against the cage but Tuivasa is able to break free. A hard combination from Tai appears to hurt Coulter. Rashad presses for the clinch. Tai with a nice knee on the break. Rashad shoots in and scores a takedown. Tai quickly scrambles up to his feet. Tuivasa with an elbow. He follows that up with a shot to the body. Big shots now from Tai. Coulter retreats. Tai catches him with a leg kick. He follows that up with a HUGE flying knee and this one is all over! WOW!

This Saturday, the UFC will make its anticipated return to Sydney, Australia with UFC Fight Night 121. This exciting UFC Sydney event has been rocked, rattled and reassembled by injuries, USADA violations, controversy and more, and yet somehow, it still stands out as a card worth watching. In the main event, we’ll see rising Polish heavyweight Marcin Tybura take on the biggest test of his career in former champion Fabricio Werdum, who stepped in on short notice to replace Mark Hunt. In the co-main event, meanwhile, Australia’s Bec Rawlings will take on last-minute replacement Jessy Rose-Clark, the stand-in for injured Scotswoman Joanne Calderwood.

Upcoming UFC Sydney event endures yet another injury-related shakeup

The UFC’s November 18 trip to Sydney, Australia, has experienced yet another injury-related shakeup. This latest UFC Sydney change is the result of an injury to Joanne Calderwood, one half of the card’s co-main event. Calderwood’s originally planned opponent, Bec Rawlings, will now battle fellow Aussie Jessica-Rose Clark on the card. Rawlings announced this shakeup herself on social media.
