It seemed as if he was destined to square off with Adesanya once again in a rematch, but White recently claimed that “The Reaper” turned the bout down.

An intriguing women’s strawweight bout between Amanda Ribas and Michelle Waterson is the latest addition to January’s UFC 257 PPV card. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report the Ribas vs. Waterson matchup, which is set to take place at UFC 257 on January 23, likely at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of the card is targeted to be a rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. It seems likely that Ribas vs. Waterson will take place on the main PPV portion of the card.

Overeem and Rozenstruik met in the main event of UFC Washington, D.C. in December 2019. Overeem won the first four rounds of the fight and was on his way to winning a unanimous decision until Rozenstruik landed a massive punch with seconds left to go in the contest. Referee Dan Miragliotta saw the damage the punch did to Overeem’s lip and decided to step in and wave off the contest even though Overeem was still conscious.

UFC heavyweight legend Minotauro Nogueira praised his friend Anderson Silva, comparing what he did in MMA to Michael Jordan in basketball. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, better known as “Big Nog” or Minotauro, was one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and a legend in PRIDE and in the UFC. One of his best friends in the sport is Silva, who announced this past weekend following his TKO loss to Uriah Hall that he had fought his final UFC bout. Nogueira himself retired in 2015 at age 39. Like Silva, Nogueira was pushed to retire by UFC president Dana White following a losing skid.
