When he was pulled over, the police were told his name was “Conor”, before finding business cards that said “McGregor Enterprise” on the front.

Francis Ngannou sends message of support to Weili Zhang following UFC 261 title loss to Rose Namajunas

Adam D Martin - April 26, 2021

UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou sent a message of support to Weili Zhang following her UFC 261 title loss to Rose Namajunas. Zhang lost her belt to Namajunas when she suffered a first-round head kick KO loss at UFC 261. It was a tough night at the office for Zhang, who was fighting for the first time in over a year since her split decision win over Joanna Jedrzejczyk. While she was able to go the full 25 minutes that night, this fight was not the same as Zhang was put out quickly in the first round. It was a tough loss for the Chinese champion, but knowing Zhang, she will be back at the gym Monday morning and getting ready to make another run for the belt.

Chris Taylor - April 25, 2021

Robert Whittaker gave a hilarious response when asked if hoped Israel Adesanya would beat Marvin Vettori in their scheduled rematch at UFC 263. After Whittaker (23-5 MMA) scored a dominant victory over Kelvin Gastelum last weekend, which extended his current winning streak to three in a row, many fans expected that a rematch with reigning middleweight champion Israel Adesanya would be next for the Aussie.

Robert Whittaker explains why it was impossible for him to accept a rematch with Israel Adesanya at UFC 263

Adam Martin - April 25, 2021

Robert Whittaker explained why it was impossible for him to accept a rematch with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 263. Whittaker defeated Kelvin Gastelum at last weekend’s UFC Vegas 24 event to improve to 3-0 since losing his belt to Adesanya at UFC 243. The Aussie was widely expected to be next in line to fight for the title, but the UFC did an about-face this week and gave Marvin Vettori the title shot instead. That decision led to a lot of chatter amongst fight fans, who believed that Whittaker should have been the next man in line. But according to Whittaker, he actually was offered the fight, only the conditions made the fight impossible to take.

Adam Martin - April 25, 2021

Marivi Weidman shared a health update of her husband Chris Weidman following his broken leg injury TKO loss to Uriah Hall at UFC 261. Weidman suffered one of the most horrific injuries we have ever seen in UFC history when he broke his leg on a checked leg kick against Hall seconds into their fight at UFC 261. Immediately after throwing the kick, Weidman’s leg snapped in half and viewers had to witness one of the most gruesome injuries we have ever seen in the Octagon.

Jake Paul sends a message to Dana White: "Why are UFC fighters so underpaid vs. boxers?"

Adam Martin - April 25, 2021

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul sent a message to UFC president Dana White, suggesting that the UFC doesn’t pay its fighters enough money. Paul stopped Ben Askren last weekend at the Triller Fight Club boxing event in a fight that UFC president Dana White reportedly bet against Paul winning. Since Askren was stopped, White has criticized Paul, saying that while he credits him for making money off of boxing, he doesn’t believe he’s a real fighter and has no interest in having him fight in the UFC.

Rose Namajunas releases statement following head kick KO win over Weili Zhang at UFC 261

Adam Martin - April 25, 2021

UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas issued a statement following her head kick KO win over Weili Zhang at UFC 261. Namajunas entered the UFC 261 co-main event as a considerable betting underdog, but she showed that the odds were wrong and she was being overlooked with a brutal head kick KO just over a minute into the fight. For Namajunas, it was a successful opportunity to win back the women’s 115lbs belt that she lost to Jessica Andrade in Brazil two years ago by taking out Zhang and snapping her 20-fight win streak. It was an incredible upset on a night that saw a number of underdogs walk away with the win in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jimmy Crute issues statement following leg injury TKO loss to Anthony Smith at UFC 261

Adam Martin - April 25, 2021

UFC light heavyweight prospect Jimmy Crute issued a statement following his first-round TKO loss to Anthony Smith at UFC 261. Crute was the betting favorite heading into the bout with Smith and he was doing well early on in the fight with his takedowns, but a leg injury caused the doctor to stop the fight at the end of the first round. Following the loss, the Aussie took to his social media to release a statement following the loss to Smith. Take a look at what Crute wrote on his Instagram.

Betting odds released for rematch between Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori at UFC 263

Adam Martin - April 25, 2021

The betting odds have been released for the rematch between UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and rival Marvin Vettori at UFC 263. Adesanya and Vettori first met in 2018 with Adesanya winning a split decision in what was one of his toughest fights at middleweight during his UFC career. After a failed attempt at moving up in weight and taking on UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz last month, Adesanya will return back to 185lbs for his next title defense against Vettori. Although we thought that former champion Robert Whittaker would have been next in line to fight Adesanya in a rematch between the two rivals, the UFC decided to go with Vettori instead because the promotion has a date to fill on June 12 and Whittaker couldn’t take it.

Anthony Smith issues statement following injury TKO win over Jimmy Crute at UFC 261

Adam Martin - April 25, 2021

UFC light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith issued a statement following his injury TKO win over Jimmy Crute at UFC 261. Smith came into the fight with Crute as a sizeable underdog at the sportsbooks, and the fight appeared to have the makings of a competitive bout through the first five minutes. Unfortuantely for Crute, he suffered a leg injury during the fight that led to the doctor stopping the bout at the end of the first round. It was a terrible way for the fight to end, and unfortunately it was not the only injury TKO on the card as Chris Weidman suffered a broken leg against Uriah Hall in the very next fight. It was just one of those nights.

Uriah Hall reacts to beating Chris Weidman via injury TKO: "I just wish him and his family well”

Adam D Martin - April 25, 2021

UFC middleweight Uriah Hall reacted to beating Chris Weidman via injury TKO, saying that “I just wish him and his family well.” The first kick that Weidman threw on Hall saw him break his leg in one of the most grusome injury TKOs we have ever seen in MMA. It was a nasty injury and very reminiscent of Anderson Silva’s leg break over Weidman in 2013. For both Hall and Weidman, it was a terrible situation to be involved in. With Weidman, his career could be in jeopardy now following such a severe injury, while for Hall it’s a bizarre way for him to avenge his loss to Weidman from 2010. It was an unfortunate way the fight ended.

Ben Askren reacts to Jorge Masvidal getting knocked out: "I don't believe in karma"

Adam D Martin - April 25, 2021

Former UFC welterweight Ben Askren reacted to seeing Jorge Masvidal get brutally knocked out by Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 261. Masvidal was caught clean with a straight right hand out of hell from Usman in the main event of UFC 261, and he was knocked out by follow-up punches on the ground. It was the first time we have seen Masvidal get knocked out in the UFC and it was just the second time in his entire MMA career that he was stopped with strikes after Rodrigo Damm did it in Sengoku over a decade ago. Masvidal is known for having an iron chin and being nearly impossible to put away, but as Usman showed at UFC 261, anyone can get finished.

Leon Edwards scolds Jorge Masvidal over knockout loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 261

Adam D Martin - April 25, 2021

UFC welterweight contender Leon Edwards scolded Jorge Masvidal over his knockout loss to Kamaru Usman at Saturday night’s UFC 261 event. Edwards and Masvidal got into a backstage skirmish a few years ago at UFC London, which is where the legendary “three piece and a soda” line came from. The two welterweight contenders have continued to talk trash to each other on social media and in interviews over the last couple of years, but up to this point they haven’t had the chance to settle their differences in the Octagon. It’s possible that could happen in the near futurue.

Conor McGregor vows to return to welterweight after reclaiming 155lbs title: “Then I’ll go up again. After green fungus panties.”

Adam D Martin - April 25, 2021

UFC superstar Conor McGregor vowed to return back up to the UFC welterweight division after recapturing the promotion’s lightweight belt. McGregor has competed three times at welterweight in the UFC, defeating Donald Cerrone and Nate Diaz at welterweight while also suffering a loss to Diaz in the weight class. Most of his career has been spent fighting at featherweight and at lightweight. In his last fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, McGregor returned to 155lbs and suffered a second-round knockout loss. He will return to lightweight this summer for the Poirier trilogy fight.

Dana White confirms Nick Diaz wants to return to the UFC: “Nick wants to fight, we’ll see how this goes”

Adam D Martin - April 25, 2021

UFC president Dana White confirmed that Nick Diaz wants to return to the UFC, saying that “Nick wants to fight (so) we’ll see how this goes.” Diaz has not competed since UFC 183 in January 2015, when he lost a unanimous decision to Anderson Silva in what can only be described as a truly bizarre fight. Following that loss, Diaz tested positive for marijuana and was suspended. Silva, also, was suspended, though it was for performance-enhancing drugs, and the result of the bout was overturned to a No Contest. Before the NC against Siva, Diaz’s last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 158 in March 2013. His last win was a unanimous decision victory over BJ Penn in the main event of UFC 137, that fight all the way back in October 2011.

Conor McGregor reacts to Chris Weidman’s gruesome injury at UFC 261: “Had to have been damaged over time without knowing”

Adam D Martin - April 25, 2021

Conor McGregor reacted to Chris Weidman’s gruesome injury at UFC 261, saying that it “had to have been damaged over time without knowing.” Weidman’s leg broke on the very first kick he threw against Uriah Hall in their main card fight at UFC 261. It was a nasty injury, one of the worst we have ever seen in the UFC, and ironically was very similar to when the legend Anderson Silva broke his own leg on Weidman’s eight years ago. This leg break from Weidman was arguably worse as you could see the bone break through the skin. It was a horrible injury and we all wish Weidman the best as he will likely have a long road of recovery ahead of him after getting injured.
