Conor McGregor scoffs at ‘Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2’ but won’t rule out a future bout with the YouTuber. McGregor (22-6 MMA) was in attendance at last night’s Bellator 275 event in Dublin to support his SBG teammates Sinead Kavanagh and Lee Hammond. While there, the Irish star had a chat with ‘The Mirror‘ where he was asked to comment on Jake Paul.

Austin Vanderford has issued a statement following his 85-second TKO loss to Gegard Mousasi last night at Bellator 275. After starting his mixed martial arts career with eleven straight wins, five of which came under the Bellator banner, Vanderford was given the opportunity to fight for middleweight gold.

The Octagon remains in Nevada for today’s UFC Vegas 49 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Islam Makhachev vs. Bobby Green. Makhachev (21-1 MMA) last competed at October’s UFC 267 event, where he scored a first round submission victory over Dan Hooker. The Russian standout is currently riding a nine-fight winning streak, which includes three-straight stoppage victories.

David Onama made history on Saturday night as he became the first fighter from Uganda to win in the UFC. Onama became the first fighter from Uganda to make it to the UFC last October, but at UFC Vegas 48 he scored a first-round KO win over Gabriel Benitez. It was a great performance from Onama but early on, Benitez punched him in the eye that Onama admits messed up his vision for a bit.

Bellator 275’s main event saw Gegard Mousasi take on top contender Austin Vanderford. The Dutch fighter looked to make the second straight defense of his middleweight crown. Both men came into the fight riding waves of momentum. The champion Gegard Mousasi (49-7-2) was coming off a third-round TKO of John Salter in August 2021. He won the belt for the second time in October 2020, by outpointing former welterweight champion Douglas Lima.
Brian Kelleher to walkout with Ukraine flag for UFC 272 bout

Brian Kelleher has announced that he’s going to walk out with the flag of Ukraine for his next fight. Earlier this week, Russia invaded Ukraine and sparked protests and outrage across the entire international community. ‘Boom Boom’ is set to face Umar Nurmagomedov next week at UFC 272. The buildup to the fight has been quite entertaining, as both have talked trash on social media. Kelleher has even asked Conor McGregor to corner him in his fight against Nurmagomedov. A nod to ‘The Notorious’ rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Shogun Rua has been out of action since November 2020, a loss to Paul Craig. Following the fight, Dana White revealed that the Brazilian had retired, but that seems to be no more. Shogun Rua announced in the months after his loss to Craig that he was looking at two more bouts, but nothing was made official. It seems that the legend’s Penultimate fight has been revealed. He is reportedly going to be facing off against Ovince St. Preux at UFC 274 in May.

Conor McGregor says he will fight for UFC gold in his return. McGregor suffered a broken leg back in July against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy, forcing him to the sidelines. After rehabbing his leg over the last several months, the Irishman is now looking to make his return to the Octagon this summer or fall. While an opponent for his return is not set, ‘Notorious’ believes he deserves a title fight.

Dillon Danis, (18-16 MMA), is a jiu-jitsu black belt and MMA fighter from New York who last fought at Bellator 222 back in June of 2019, defeating Max Humphrey (3-3 MMA).

Micheal Gillmore always planned on dropping to welterweight. Gillmore competed on The Ultimate Fighter 29 where he was an alternate on the show. He quit his job to be an alternate and got his shot on short notice but suffered a stoppage loss to Gilbert Urbina. He then got a short-notice fight against Andre Petroski in his debut and suffered a submission loss.

Bobby Green is not a fan of Islam Makhachev’s style. Green is set to face Makhachev in the main event of UFC Vegas 49 on Saturday night. Green stepped up on short notice to face Makhachev at a 160lbs catchweight fight. “King” just fought at UFC 271 on February 12 and although he thinks Makhachev is a tough test he admits this is a fight he doesn’t think will be entertaining. Instead, he says the Dagestani fighter is boring and isn’t entertaining.

Henry Cejudo seemingly has no interest in any sort of Israel Adesanya vs. Jon Jones superfight. ‘Triple C’ believes that ‘Jones’ would crush his long-time rival, and literally kill him if they fought. The two champions have gone back and forth over the past few years. ‘The Last Stylebender’ intended to eventually move up to challenge ‘Bones’ for a 205-pound grudge match. However, the proposed superfight has been postponed as a result of Jones’ impending move to the heavyweight division.
