UFC Columbus salaries revealed: Curtis Blaydes takes home biggest purse

The salaries from UFC Columbus have been revealed and Curtis Blaydes made the most amount of money. Recently, more and more commissions are keeping the salaries private, but Ohio is one of the few states that disclose the pay. In the main event of UFC Columbus, Curtis Blaydes scored a second-round TKO over Chris Daukaus. For his efforts, ‘Razor’ took home the biggest purse of any fighter featured on the card, pocketing a cool $312k. Daukaus, meanwhile, was paid $80k in defeat.
Kelvin Gastelum now faces Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 273, Anthony Hernandez gets a new opponent

Kelvin Gastelum will remain on UFC 273 but it will not be against Nassourdine Imavov as originally expected. Gastelum was supposed to take on the surging French prospect, but on Monday it was revealed Imavov was out of the fight. However, according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Gastelum will now fight Dricus Du Plessis at middleweight.

Brendan Schaub has weighed in on the latest accusations made against Chael Sonnen. It was back in December of 2021 when news broke that ‘The American Gangster’ had been slapped with five misdemeanor battery charges after allegedly being part of a hotel brawl. The citations were subsequently dropped without prejudice but a new lawsuit was filed on March 25 in Clark County (Nevada) District Court.

Jon Jones has taken to Twitter to talk about his former light heavyweight status and what’s to come for the fighter in 2022. Jones (26-1 MMA) last fought back in February of 2020 at UFC 247, where he defeated Dominick Reyes (12-3 MMA), defending the light heavyweight title for the 13th time. Jon Jones defeated Dominick Reyes via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46).

As per his manager, BKFC middleweight champion Thiago Alves is hoping to defend his belt against Mike Perry in June. While he may be known by many for his run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Thiago Alves has had a solid start to life in bare-knuckle boxing. After defeating Julian Lane via split decision in September 2020, Alves proceeded to beat Ulysses Diaz due to a doctor stoppage last summer to become the inaugural middleweight title holder in BKFC.

Recently, we have seen fighters trash talk opposing fighters’ families, which is why Jorge Masvidal sucker-punched Colby Covington in the streets. Dustin Poirier also was not happy with Conor McGregor talking about his wife, however, for St-Pierre, he says fighters take it too personal as fighters need to know trash-talking is part of the game and they need to know it’s good for business and it’s not personal.

The 45-year-old spoke about his recent run-in with some burglars with the Dutch news outlet Vechtsport Info. Manhoef revealed that he recently saw some men attempting to rob his home. As a result, he stopped them and then decided to chase after the men after they attempted to flee.

However, the Irishman is under UFC contract so it will not happen anytime soon, but now, Paul says he would take an MMA fight against McGregor, and should he win he wants Dana White to change fighter pay.

Last Saturday at UFC Columbus, Matt Brown and Bryan Barberena fought to a Fight of the Night in what proved to be a bout that far exceeded expectations at 170 pounds. Both individuals had their moments but ultimately, Barberena was deemed to be the victor after a split decision was awarded to him by the judges.
