Andre Fili looking for “big-money, title-contention fights” with win over Bryce Mitchell at UFC Vegas 12

Adam Martin - October 30, 2020

Andre Fili says he will be looking for “big-money, title-contention fights” with a win over Bryce Mitchell at Saturday’s UFC Vegas 12. Fili takes on Mitchell in the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 12 card. For Fili, this fight represents a chance for him to get back into the top-15 by taking out the undefeated Mitchell, who is 13-0. Both men come into the fight on a roll, with Fili winning three of his last four fights and Mitchell going a perfect 4-0 in the UFC. The UFC booked the fight as the co-main event for a reason.

MMAjunkie.com reported that Fili vs. Yusuff is the latest addition to the January 18 card that is supposed to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Thomas Taylor - August 26, 2018

On Saturday night, in the co-main event of UFC Lincoln, Michael “The Menace” Johnson picked up a split decision victory over Team Alpha Male staple Andre Fili. To say Fili disagrees with that result would be an understatement. In a scathing post-fight statement to Instagram, Andre Fili refuted the judges’ decision, and shared some choice words for his opponent.

Andre Fili Comments on 'Fake' Conor McGregor After His Use of a Gay Slur

Justin Golightly - October 24, 2017

Andre Fili put on a great performance against Artem Lobov at UFC Gdansk, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by Conor McGregor twice. In the midst of the fight before his right hand man Lobov would square off against Team Alpha Male’s Fili, the crowd erupted as McGregor entered the arena. This fever pitch was only amplified in the featherweight clash as McGregor ran around cageside, screaming to his teammate during the fight. However, it was his choice words after the fight that found him in hot water. Andre Fili expressed his criticism of McGregor’s behavior and detailed his interactions with him post-fight. “There’s no need to use words like that. You don’t need to demean other people to make yourself seem bigger. Whenever you hear someone use that word or call someone a ‘bitch,’ that makes you look so insecure. Don’t be fake with me. I’m as real a person as you’re going to meet. You’re always going to know where you stand with me. For him to say what he said and then turn right around and act like we’re cool, that’s so fake.”

Artem Lobov thinking about asking to be released from UFC

Russell Ess - October 23, 2017

Artem Lobov was edged out by Andre Fili during their UFC FIght Night 118 contest that took place in Gdansk, Poland over the weekend. Fili was given the judge’s unanimous decision after their three-round fight came to an end. Lobov now holds a professional MMA record of 13-14 with one draw and one no-contest. After the loss, Lobov tweeted that he is unsure of what his future holds as he does not want to retire and come back to fighting numerous times. Interestingly, the SBG Ireland teammate and close friend to UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor said after his fight with Fili that he may even consider going to try a new combat sport and have a go at boxing like “The Notorious” just did if the UFC will allow him to do so.

Andre Fili Edges Out Artem Lobov as Conor McGregor Yells Cageside

Justin Golightly - October 21, 2017

Artem Lobov and Andre Fili’s history goes back to The Ultimate Fighter 22. It was coached by his friend Conor McGregor, who was there in Poland to support his right hand man. It was Team Alpha Male squaring off against Straight Blast Gym with guy who first dethrone Jose Aldo watching it all unfold. Not just in the stands mind you, but pacing around and screaming on the cageside floor. Both Lobov and Fili aren’t ones to take a step back in fights, so you knew it was going to be a scrap. Andre Fili Gives Respect to Artem Lobov Ahead of Their UFC Gdansk Fight

Justin Golightly - October 21, 2017

We’re just a couple of hours away from Poland’s mid-afternoon UFC event, a place that some MMA fans claim Artem Lobov doesn’t belong. They come out of the woodwork every fight. Lobov will be taking on Team Alpha Male’s Andre Fili. Despite the history between the two gyms, there wasn’t much trash talk. Actually, Fili recently opened up about his respect for Lobov and talked about the unforgiving fans who make the internet a mine field for fighters. “I’ve been around him a lot more than other guys that I get picked to fight. There is no bad blood, though. There’s no disrespect. I don’t feel any negative emotion towards him as a person. He’s alright. He’s tough, he puts on exciting fights and he’s got a good chin – all these things make for an exciting fight. I’m just excited to get in there to let my hands go and get this win. He doesn’t have the best record, but he’s fought some of the best guys in the world. I think most of the people who talk about him not deserving to be in the UFC are guys who have never been in a cage and have fought for a living.”
