Carwin Forced Out of TUF Finale with Blown Knee | UFC News
The first time fans have seen Shane Carwin in over a year is as a coach on the current season of the Ultimate Fighter opposite of Roy Nelson. Carwin was on the sidelines after the rehab process following back surgery took much longer than expected.
Roy Nelson was scheduled to face Carwin at UFC 125, but announced on his website that he needed to pull out due to back and neck pain. He would get surgery to correct the problems on November 2, 2010. He then had back surgery again on October 16, 2011.
This time around Carwin was scheduled to fight Nelson at the TUF finale as become tradition with the Ultimate Fighter. UFC President Dana White tweets

He should just retire. He ain’t getting any younger.
Carwin is done. He should retire. He is not a spring chicken and all these injuries that keep popping up will take its toll. Carwin is not such a big name that the public can wait another year and still be excited about his next fight. New fighters are always coming up. Not fighting for two to three years for a fighter his age and credential could be the death blow to his career.
Carwin knew he could never get all ROIDED back up in time.
Ask any orthapedic or sports trainer what years and years of steroid abuse do to an athletes body? During cycling teh body gains so much strength so fast the ligaments and tendons are often stretched way past normal and then later in a athletes career the body starts breaking down in early mids 30′s (GSP) and in Carwins case he seems to have aged very fast and looks like he is 38 going on 68 yrs old. Its time for Carwin to retire. H ehasn’t fought in almost 2.5 years just like GSP. These are times athletes like Carwin and GSP and many other athletes really regret JUICING throughout their careers.

All you need to do is look up what FEDS have on Carwin and his crooked manager and don’t forget Carwin didn’t want anything to do with the best PED/STEROID testing avaiable (VADA)
VADA tests for all the expensive stuff a fancy well paid engineer like carwin can afford like EPO’s ( for his suck stamina) HGH (because he’s an old man before hsi time from steroid abuse) Designer steroids which are being sold or distributed thru Victor Conte (BALCO-Barry Bonds) via Kyle kingsbury. Conte was ordered by Federal judge to not have any contact with anyone assocaiated with major league baseball after he was released from prison and less than 2 weeks out he hooked up with Kyle Kingsbury ( was known at Arizona as go to guy to get steroids in his college days)

CARWIN HAS WASTED ENOUGH OF UFC’S MONEY AND FANS TIME NOW. ITS TIME TO GO AWAY AND RETIRE. Entire season of TUF all for nothing and i doubt Carwin was ever planning on fighting. The man only fights every 2.5 years and he needed at least 6 months to get all ROIDED back up and get a few cycles in and clean up a month out and he was too much under the microscope after Nelsen challenged him to get REAL LEGIT PED testing thru VADA.
Brutal! Disaster for TUF finale. Such an unfortunate injury.
I dont know about the scientific effect of Steroids on knees.
But I bet that Carwin “injury” is due to fear from getting caught
Roy Nelson is about the same age, trains as hard as anyone of those guys, takes a lot of damage during fights, isn’t as athletic as those tough guys and he NEVER PULLS OUT FIGHTS. Neither does BJ Penn, nor Randy Couture, neither any clean fighter

I like Carwins fighting style and have always been a fan of his fights. It’s disappointing that he got injured, really big letdown. I was hoping the finale would redeem this season… Which has played out more like a sitcom drama than a fighting competition
this is why fights shouldn’t be allowed to go as far as they can… JDS was beating the shit out of him while he was on all fours helpless… they should’ve stopped that fight and maybe he’s still be an active fighter today… all i know is he’s had a string of bad luck and inactivity since that fight….
Sucks for Carwin and the TUF finale. But it might be a good opportunity to welcome Cormier to the UFC.
