Carlos Condit Issues Formal Statement About UFC 137 Removal
“I am greatly disappointed, for both myself and UFC fans, that I will no longer be fighting for the Welterweight title at UFC 137, but I also understand that injuries are a part of this business.
As a professional fighter, it is my job to be prepared for any and all circumstances, positive and negative, that come my way during training and the actual fight. Georges is a great competitor and I know that he will want to return to 100 percent health as soon as possible so that this fight can be rescheduled.
This is the best training camp I have ever had, and I look forward to carrying over the growth that I’ve experienced in this camp to my next one.
I have trained for over a decade in mixed martial arts with the clear goal of becoming the best fighter in the world at my weight class. I have worked this long to become the UFC Welterweight Champion. I will work a little longer.”

That belt is but a mere entity of what you have accomplished. But if Condit wants to make a statement, he’ll fight on October 29th. Whether it Koscheck, Anthony Johnson, or whoever decides to step up.

I actually think condit will beat gsp and I know a lot of people will disagree but I guess we have to wait a little longer than anticipated. It’s only my opinion which everyone will breakdown the fight according to themselves as their opinion. Will be a good fight though.

I understand why he wants to wait but I think I have lost a little respect for Condit for not accepting Koschecks offer. Before I even read about Koschecks offer I knew he would take it if asked. He’s uninjured and he’s like the Miller brothers, he’d probably fight anytime, anywhere, and I respect the hell out of him because of it. I hope tomorrow I read he changed his mind because I was not expecting him to decline.
kos doesnt deserve to jump back into the contention picture if he wants a fight he should call fitch up. if u lost respect for condit u should also lose respect for chael sonnen for waiting on anderson to get better while vitor belfort calls him out every day.

I only lost a little bit, hes still a great fighter. As for Sonnen I respect Condit more in the first place. Chael just likes talkin mad shit to hype fights, that at least makes the fight more entertaining. Also don’t even bother discussing if Chael even deserves a title shot because theres too many variables and either person could be right or wrong. How did Chael even get brought up?
no ways..i dont believe kosh is in the same class at this point as condit. condit did the right thing to refuse to fight kosh…its equivalent to manny pac getting into a bar fight…the best thing to do is walk away. its a mental thing…when you prepare heart mind and soul to fight the champ u have to set your mind on nothing else…the champ or nothing else…condit did the right thing! kosh name dosent carry the same weight as a bj penn or a matt hughes or jose aldo or a gomi…frank edgar….condit prepared for the champ no one else….
