Brad Tavares Injured, Out OF UFC 137: Jorgensen vs. Curran Promoted To Main Card

And the UFC 137 changes keep coming…

An undisclosed injury has forced Brad Tavares out of his UFC 137 bout with Justin Jacoby and in their place from the preliminary card will come Scott Jorgensen and Jeff Curran.

“UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz” is set to take place on October 29th from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view event was set to feature a welterweight championship bout between George St Pierre and Carlos Condit. However GSP was forced to withdraw with a knee injury and in his place will come BJ Penn vs. Nick Diaz.

Jorgensen last saw action at the Ultimate Fighter 13 finale this past June. He was able to secure a first round KO victory over Ken Stone to bounce back from his title shot loss to Dominick Cruz last December at WEC 53.

Curran who is 26-fights removed from his last UFC bout will look to finish his career on the biggest stage in the sport. The Illinois based fighter, who has beaten the likes of Wagney Fabiano and Rafael Assuncao has now decided to compete in the UFC’s bantamweight division and rejoin the ranks of guys like Urijah Faber and Joseph Benavidez who hold previous wins over him.

  1. Hostile hunter says:

Wow. Injury after Injury.Well atleast we get to see Jorgensen get the ppv slot that he should have had in the first place.

  2. Joe says:

lol who called the jorgenson fight to ppv??

  3. Ly-er_Ly-er says:

Damn, u gotta be kidding me! They should really try and put everyone into individual unbreakable bubbles until the fight next week, these unexpected occurrences are just happening too frequently! This has to be the most unstable card in the history of the UFC!! LOL

  4. dubmatic808 says:

damn was looking forward to this fight =/

  5. DontBeScaredHomie says:

This will have less buys than the edgar fight.

    • BJ PENCIL says:

imagine… but they do have so solid names and performers on this card. solid names being BJ Penn and good performers just to name a few: Diaz, Cerrone, Siver and few others. I think it should be a solid card.

  6. Donnybrook says:

Geez… what’s up with that, did he pull a GSP?.

  7. The Dude says:

    Still no Siver Cerrone…?

Did one of them **** Dana’s sister and not call her or something?
