Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather will take place in May of 2017, according to ESPN’s Jalen Rose of the “Jalen and Jacoby” show.

“I got some breaking news,” said Rose. “The Floyd and Conor McGregor fight is going to happen.”

“Floyd and McGregor will probably announce in a month. It will be in May, the same weekend as the Kentucky Derby, in 2017,”

Colin Cowherd of “The Herd” also reported that the fight between McGregor and Mayweather is happening per his sources, but he stated that the fight is taking place this year in September.

While the date differs from the two sports analysts, it surely seems like things are in motion to get the fight underway.

One thing to note, Rose was the first to break news last year of the date for the mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao that took place on May 2, 2015.
