While a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather has yet to be formally announced, combat sports fans haven’t been able to resist discussing the potential matchup.

Famed boxing trainer Teddy Atlas went on record saying that he wouldn’t train McGregor to fight Mayweather because of the overwhelming odds, however Freddie Roach has stated that he would “love” to help McGregor.

In addition, Roach revealed on an recent episode of Inside MMA that Floyd Mayweather dropped by Wild Card boxing gym to ask Roach to train McGregor.

“There are a lot of rumors out there that I’m getting calls from Conor, asking me to train him; they’re not true. He has not called me yet but Mayweather did come by my gym last week and he asked me to take that job if it’s offered to me. He told me the fight is gonna happen and we’re gonna make a lot of money.”
