Bonnar Speaks: Says Silva’s Knee Temporary Paralyzed Him | UFC NEWS

“Thanks to everyone for the support, I’m so sorry I lost. I feel so bad for letting my fans down, but I promise to make it up to you. … Not injured, just caught with a perfect knee to the solar plexus and it paralyzed me, was just getting movement back when fight was stopped.”

Taking to his personal Twitter account, last weekend’s UFC main event loser, Stephan Bonnar broke his silence for the first time since tasting defeat at the hands of Anderson Silva to address his fans and let everyone know he is O.K.

While he put on an entertaining performance, Stephan Bonnar, was taken out in the very first round of action last Saturday night with a brutal knee to the body that sent him crashing to the mat in fetal position.

  1. The Truth says:

No sweat Stephan. You knew the road was treacherous yet you traveled it anyway. Honorable Bro. When anyone steps in the cage they owe an apology to no one.

  2. Ghost of evan tanner says:

    Couldnt say it better myself

  3. 757 says:

Nice comments…I agree with everyone. Way to go Bonnar it’s all good.

  4. Reality says:

He actually did better than most of Silva’s opponents in the UFC. He put the pressure on, caught him with punches, and made it a fight. His opponent is just so good that it wasn’t enough. No shame there..He did his thing.

  5. fuck-u-haters says:

more like anderson let him punch him this can had no chance what was the ufc thinking

  6. Devilock138 says:

This fight reminded me of what it was like to spar with sensei. I would be very aggressive since I was younger and bigger, but he would just toy with me until he got bored and BAM! knee to the solar plexus. Recovering from one of those takes a minute or 2.

Good on ya, Stephan, you were just outclassed.

  7. GET RID OF GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

perfectly place knee…no need to apologize stephan…that was much harder than what he hit chael with

  8. cocojojo says:

Bonner took a dive just face it. He only took the fight because of the check, before the fight he wasn’t relevant. Cold but true, so true.

  9. Enzo says:

I’m glad you’re okay Bonnar. Thanks for taking the fight, I appreciate your courage, it must take a lot to step into the cage with Anderson Silva. Thank you once again for the show.

  10. 2REAL says:

Cocojojo you’re a fucking idiot! people like you need to stay off this page and let real mma fans converse. Bonnar did not take a dive for no ”check”. Smh, go watch watch wwe and stay away from mma fool.

  11. Billy Holland says:

Bring on Jon Jones, Silva will lose!!!

    • Allan Paulino says:

Hey dude, sorry but this is not true… Jones is a great fighter but Anderson is the best, ever.
Jones fights with Belfort and left his arm to Vitor take from home… Anderson put Vitor to sleep in the very first round
Jones fight against Bonnar also, 3 rounds to win by judges decision.
Yes, Jones was good but Anderson is the greatest.

  12. David says:

surprised No one else thinks the fight was stopped too early ??

  13. 757 says:

Hey coccojojo or whatever the hell name that is try looking up the fighter salaries for UFC 153. Bonnar didn’t make jack for his efforts….Shut Up!

  14. Nick says:

Bonnar has Courage unlike Bones Jones.

  15. Lol says:

How about we look at the fight at hand instead of mincing over the other greatest fighter ever.

This fight was so sad to watch.. Bonnar had no hope in hell of winning no matter where the fight went.

  16. CombatRusse says:

I was dropped twice with such solar plexus kicks in Savate sparring (even if it was without full contact!)
I think that the spider started using that weapon after Rashad finisehd Ortiz with the same knee? Anderson is amazing, he’s always evolving

  17. Steffan says:

Great job man, it was a fight anything can happen…
