BJPENN.COM Radio Returns This Sunday – Phil Davis, Bobby Green, Dhiego Lima, Andre Fili
BJPENN.COM radio is back with new hosts Todd Jackson and Denny Hodge taking over, in the Sunday slot, for a stacked show with some of MMA’s top stars. The inaugural episode jumps right in the mix to talk TUF 19, UFC 172, and more.
The show kicks off live this Sunday at 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT, right here on BJPENN.COM.
Joining the guys first will be TUF 19 competitor Dhiego Lima (9-1 MMA), who is making a name for himself as a rising star. After securing a spot in the house with a victory in the first episode’s elimination round, he will get the opportunity to showcase his talent as a member of Team Edgar in the middleweight division. The team will talk to Dhiego about the process of getting selected for the show, the pressure of the elimination round, and what it means to take a step closer to the world’s biggest stage in MMA. Dhiego is a finisher like his brother Douglas, so we will get his thoughts on what makes the Lima family such a dangerous duo, as well as his thoughts on what it means to cement his own legacy in the sport.
Next up will be the guy with one of the best nicknames in the sport, as Andre “Touchy” Fili (13-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) joins the guys to talk about how he got the short-notice call from the UFC, and how that moment of celebrating the news in the parking lot of his day job led to his first UFC win, and subsequently his showdown with Max Holloway at UFC 172. “Touchy” is on a nine-fight win streak, and if you like finishes — nine of his thirteen victories came by way of stoppage — check out some of his past fights.
Bobby Green (22-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is known to speak his mind, whether in person or on social media. But make no mistake about it, once the cage door closes, “King” is always ready to rule by example, and has proven that he is ready to take another step up the ladder of the UFC’s lightweight division as he faces perennial contender Jim Miller at UFC 172. The team will talk to Bobby about the fight, his personality, the entertainment side of MMA, and maybe even Phil Baroni.
Stay tuned to the show to also catch a BJPENN.COM radio pre-recorded interview with “Mr. Wonderful” Phil Davis (12-1-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC) as he prepares to battle Anthony Johnson at UFC 172. Recently Davis has opened up and sounded off about rankings, title shots, and the status of the UFC light heavyweight division, including his comments about champion Jon Jones.
