BJPENN.COM Featherweight Top 10 (Updated 10/12/11)

The world top 10 featherweight rankings according to the panel at BJPENN.COM consist of all UFC talent with the exception of two Bellator roster holders.
Jose Aldo is the current UFC featherweight champion and as such gets the number 1 seat on our rankings system. With his recent UFC 136 victory over Kenny Florian, his dominance is proven and rank deserved.
Some major changes have taken place in the rankings since our last publication. The BJPENN.COM top-three featherweights remain the same, but our previously ranked number 4 fighter, Marlon Sandro, recently got knocked out by Pat Curran and as such he has fallen down the ladder and been replaced by Kenny Florian.
Florian’s bump from being number 5 to number 4 left a vacancy in the 5 spot which is now held by Diego Nunes who is also up one postition from our last publication.
The rest of the deck was reshuffled and one fighter was removed entirely from the top 10. Michihiro Omigawa who was our previously ranked number 8 fighter has suffered two consecutive losses in the UFC, with his most recent defeat coming way of Darren Elkins at UFC 131 he has been removed from our top 10 rankings.
With one fighter removed, one must make a debut and that fighter is Bellator featherweight, Pat Curran, who as we previously mentioned upset Marlon Sandro recently to advance through the Bellator ranks. He now debuts at number 6 and Sandro is put in the 7 spot.
The BJPENN.COM staff has analyzed recent activity and all around performance inside professional competition and broke down to the 10 featherweight in MMA as follows:
1: Jose Aldo (UFC FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION)
2: Hatsu Hioki
3: Chad Mendes
4: Kenny Florian
5: Diego Nunes
6: Pat Curran
7: Marlon Sandro
8: Dustin Porier
9: Mark Hominick
10: Tyson Griffin

looks good…wanna see hominick fight again
I second that! That lil guy is badass!
Yea really think he is the only one who should be ranked higher. Either way the guy is a warrior and cant wait till his next fight
Agreed hom should atleast be top 4…. Am I wrong???
If Jung gets injured, they should put Kenflo against Hominick at UFC 140. I think Hominick would work Kenflo standing up, Kenflo would have to wall and stall a win. PENN NATION!!!!!!!
tyson will be top three by the end of 2012
good list but switch 2 and 3 hioki should definately not be above Mendes
Korean zombie creepin his way up there just you watched
i think hominick should be 2
hominick should be in top 5
I have a rap for all you Mendes nuthuggers. Enjoy.
Mendes will Lay and Prey, like Gray and Clay.
All ****ing day! All ****ing way! x2
To y’all fanboys from Sacramento, too bad that he will get smashed by Jose Aldo.
All ****ing day! All ****ing way! x2

Mark Hominick should be higher. I seriously dont understand what bjpenn.com is thinking?

no one speaks alien here. go back to your home planet & comment on the lizard fights there.
Bottom line: There’s Jose Aldo….and then there’s the rest!!!
Looking forward to seeing Hioki in the UFC, I don’t think he deserves the #2 spot but I guess we’ll find out pretty soon. And, they need to get Pat Curran in the UFC after he’s done with the Bellator tourney.
Hioki’s got a lot of hype.
We’ll see how good he really is!!
Isn’t Ken Flo back up to Light Weight Division?
Were is the Korean Zombie???????????
i think the machine should be ranked before curran and sandro!!! without a doubt! come people give your head a rattle or two
I THINK HOMNICK SHOOULD BE ALOT HIGHER,…AND FLORIAN ALOT LOWER,,,MAYBE THEY SHOULD SWITCH SPOTS…I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HOMNICK FIGHT MENDEZ
