BJPenn.Com has learned that the UFC has added an exciting lightweight bout to their already stacked UFC 158 card that will take place on March 16 at The Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Two recent Ultimate Fighter finalists will meet as Montreal native Mike Ricci will take on Colin Fletcher. Ricci competed as a welterweight on season 16 of The Ultimate Fighter and made it to the finals before losing to Colton Smith via unanimous decision. The 26-year-old trains alongside best friend Rory MacDonald and UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre at Tri-Star under the tutelage of famed MMA coach Firas Zahabi. He currently has a professional record of 7-3 with four wins coming by way of knockout and one by submission.
Fletcher is 30-years-old and hails from Sunderland, United Kingdom. He competed on the first ever edition of The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes under coach Ross Pearson. Fletcher made it to the finals where he lost to Norman Parke via unanimous decision. He has competed for Total Combat and BAMMA throughout his nearly five year career and has a professional record of 8-2 with seven wins coming via submission. He has held the Strike and Submit British Welterweight Title, Total Combat British Welterweight Championship and the Total Combat European Lightweight Championship.
UFC 158 will be headlined by a battle for the UFC Welterweight Championship and Georges St. Pierre will defend his title against former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz. In the co-main event Rory MacDonald will look to extract revenge from the only to have ever defeated him when he meets former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit and in a battle of top welterweight contenders Johny Hendricks will take on Jake Ellenberger.
