Betting Odds: JDS opens up as the favorite over Overeem | UFC NEWS
Here is something that doesn’t get written very often: Alistar Overeem will be considered the underdog in his next fight.
In the co-main event of UFC 160, Overeem will face former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. According to bestfightodds.com, the odds makers have dos Santos at -248 while Overeem comes in at +192.
The power-punching of dos Santos combined with the fact that Overeem was KO’d in his last outing likely led to the big discrepancy.
The 32-year-old Overeem is 36-12 and is coming off a third-round knockout loss to Antonio Silva in February. That loss snapped an 11-fight win streak for the ‘Reem.
Also coming off a rare loss is dos Santos (15-2), who saw his UFC belt taken away from him at the hands of Cain Velasquez in December.
UFC 160 is scheduled for May 25 in Las Vegas and will feature Cain Velasquez vs. Silva in the main event.
