  1. SinCe 2004 says:

Its really quite simple, say goodbye to the Frankie Edgar era… and good riddens

    • GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

I think Fankie will ahve a hard time runnung away from Aldo and stealing a decision as he did in most of his fights at LW. Aldo’s leg kicks will take out his wheels like it did to Faber who also does alot of runninga way. Everyone will be crying and feeling sorry for Frankie and he ‘s limping around in 5th and Aldo will prob need a finish cause judges tend to fell sorry for Edgar also. lets hope Aldo gets afair shake with judges. Please no more rematches. Frankies legacy will be rematch after rematch. Should have never been a 3rd maynard fight, should have never been a2nd Bendo fight. NO other fighter in UFC history has ever had Dana wrapped around hsi little finger like Frnkie does. He’s like the youngest spoiled kid of a family that always gets his own way. REgardless Frankie’s career will be over in a few years because he has sustained at least a dozen concussions in last 3 -4 yrs and i see him having some really bad neurological problems in his late 30’smuch like a man 3 times his size has right now Gary Goodrich who actually probably took less damage per lb than edgar. Aldo by 5 round beatdown Fankie leaves cage hobbling real bad and at least one judge will feel sorry for him and it will be asplit decision either way

  2. DEE says:

Aldo is going to have a hard fight.

  3. Brett says:

I think Aldo is gonna finish edgar! Edgar is good but he isnt great IMO! Aldo is Great but hes not perfect! Frankies gonna have to wrestle aldo in order to win!

    • Andersunsaliva says:

And wrestle he will. Cardio goes to Edgar. Power goes to Aldo. Cardio+power (late rounds) goes to Edgar. (He did knock Maynard out). Speed goes to Aldo. BJJ is equal IMO. Aldo leg kicks could be the key for Aldo but if he gets taken down early, he may stop kicking. Aldo faded in late rounds to Hominick. Great great fight! I cant wait! Who wins? I have no idea.

      • GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

Yeah right BJJ is equel. Aldo is a Nova Uniao bjj Blackbelt and much more experienced on ground. However Aldo’s striking mauy tai is what Edgar is going to have the most problems with. Edgar has some really skinny legs and we all saw what happen to Faber who actaully has pretty stout little 2.5″ tall legs which were already giving out on him after one round with Aldo.

        • GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

Only time Aldo had any problems with his cardio was in Hominick fight where Aldo ahd been ill before the fight and had been on antibiotics for an infection that kept him from training cardio for part of his training camp . Anyone who ahs ever been on antibiotics knows makes you feel like sh’t and he put on some extra muscle during a long layoff after an injury cause the only training he was able to do was in weight room. Now everyone thinks he has horrible cardio because of one fight whihc he dominated while feeling sick as hell. If he was would have been healthy Hominick wouldn’t have lasted 3 rounds. Just wait and see all you guys exaggerating about Aldo hvaing bad cardio are going to eat your words. If UFC had smaller cage like King of the cage Edgar would get Ko’d almost every fight because he would not have the room to runa way all the time. Aldo is going damage Edgar leg permantly and prob add a few more concussions to Edgars already DOZEN or

        • The Natural says:

Frankie all day by grnd n pound

    • Warrior says:

Not great? He beat BJ Penn-Twice. That fact alone puts him among some of the all-time greats in the UFC Lightweight division. Frankie is always a tough fight for anyone, so don’t count him out of this one just yet

  4. magoo says:

Maybe after Frankie beats Aldo, Dana will force Aldo to move up to LW where he can fight guys his own size! Booya! Finish em Frankie!

  5. 808 says:

What played into Aldo’s favor in his prior fights is the fact that most of his opponents stayed in the pocket. After a jab, maybe with an uppercut, he gets an easy setup for a good leg kick. After the feeling out process, when an opponent learns the appropriate positioning, the strikes are not there. Evidence of this is shown in the Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian, and yes even the Chad Mendes fight. The Achilles Heel for mid range strikers are wrestlers and smart kickboxers that stay on the outside.

Aldo is a momentum fighter that struggles when his opponents dictate the pace. We usually see this in the later rounds because Aldo tends to fade from that 25lb weight cut. Jose is a momentum fighter that comes out strong, throwing everything into most of his strikes; that is not the smart way to fight a five round fight.

Stylistically, Frankie Edgar is the best match up for Aldo in the featherweight division. Kid from Kona with his two cents.

    • Andersunsaliva says:

Intelligent post. Kid from Kona, this is a great analysis of a fight. Thank you. This site is full of idiots that name themselves “kill gregg jackson”. This great Country of ours is going down hill.

  6. Bob says:

I love Aldo but Frankie will win the late rounds and steal this fight because of his cardio and Aldo fades away in late rounds. … Oh wait its UFC judges so only they know who will win..

UFC judges are involved in the gambling mafia so they might want edgar to win so they cash in more money…

    • dogfart says:

rofl its not just ufc judges. its judges from the commission.
its the same in boxing and any other sport. stupid or corrupt or both
although im not sure how geoff blatnick is corrupt but he certainly has a distrustful face lol

  7. The natural says:

Has any fighters last six fights been half as tough as Edgars does anybody fight bj Maynard and Henderson twice and walk out lookin the victor wow how can u hate on this guy now he’s taking Aldo fight on short notice inn first fight in a diff weight class. This guys still small for fw Aldos still bigger then him. But everybody knows if anybody has best chance taking Aldo it’s Edgar and always been.

  8. krafty11 says:

Aldo will still walk out the 145 champ. Frankie has always had the speed advantage at LW. Well, he just lost that fighting Aldo. And Aldo will also have the power advantage as well. He is actually bigger than Frankie. The cardio can go to Frankie. but i see this playing out like the Faber fight. Faber had crazy footwork and he took a beating from Aldo. Frankie got a lot of heart, but in the end Aldo will still be the boss at 145. just my opinion.

  9. 223 says:

Frankie will get KO’d in the second round!!!

  10. Yogurt slinger says:

    Edgar by RNC 2nd rd

  11. Not You says:

Too much Edgar lately. The only reason everyone is picking Edgar is because they don’t have any recent Aldo fights. Why wouldn’t Aldo work his cardio knowing Edgar is strong in the later rounds? How is a Muay Thai striker a “mid-range” fighter? All strikers can fight inside or on the outside.

  12. SinCe 2004 says:

What people are totally missing is the fact that Edgar will not have the speed advantage he has had at lightweight.. At featherweight Edgar wont look so fast and against Aldo he has NO advantage! People think Aldo cant perform in later rounds why?!? Because of the Hominick fight?!? Everyone knows he was ill going into that fight. Did Aldo “fade” when he was puttin the worst whoopin anyone ever gave Faber for 5 rounds?? Edgar is definitely the most interresting fight for Aldo but Aldo got this just because he is that good, people sleepin on aldo need to wake the fu(K up!

  13. Joe Mama says:

This will be a hilarious match. Edgar is a true comedian and Aldo will have the last laugh…hahahahaaa!

  14. ASDF says:

Frankie Re-Match Edgar by controversial decision, if he wins. If he loses, he loses by hat throw, plus stomping on his hat with two feet.

  15. ASDF says:

Frankie Re-Match Edgar by controversial decision, if he wins. If he loses, he loses by controversial decision, with hat throw, plus stomping on his hat with two feet.

    • jbeamazing says:

him and bendo to the real fans are 1-1 just saying

        • The natural says:

Edgar 2-0 to bendo but u can argue first fight but not without using same excuse of y u might have thought bendo won the sec but Edgar won Edgar the real champ people’s champ bendos a paper champ everyone knows it. Now Edgars gonna be a two div champ wen he destroys Aldo

        • dogfart says:

no, he clearly and convincingly won the 1st fight. if you turn off the audio and watch without listening to joe rogan he wont the fight.

second one he lost, he was gifted that fight.
it was close but imo he didnt do enough or work nearly as hard as he did on the 1st fight. he looked worried

  16. Bryan Fury85 says:

Too many people underestimating edgar as if he doesn’t go out to finish fights and like his hands aren’t accurate as shit. Aldo is a beast no doubt, but I’m not counting edgar out when I’ve seen him damn near knocked out twice and he comes back to finish his opponent and made it look easy.

  17. Rob says:

Edgar will be faster than he is at lw cuz hes goin down, speed could be even in this one

  18. Lino says:

I’m pulling for frankie hate to see him drop 3 straight .

  19. slacker says:

Anyone who doesn’t think this will be a super – close fight is a complete fool. Edge to Edgar – better cardio in the championship rounds. Has everyone forgotten about Hominick – Aldo? Also, if Edgar could slam Maynard and take – down Henderson, you don’t think his wrestling will be significant against Aldo?

  20. A.James says:

Frankie is going to expose Aldo. These fans on here don’t even know anything about fighting. His combination of speed, boxing, footwork and wrestling will prove too much for Aldo. Edgar was a champ in a much harder weight class. Who has Aldo beaten that has been notable?

  21. antwon says:

how is edgar having a 3rd title fight in a row!?!?!?

  22. jbeamazing says:

Aldo now has to face a real fighter this should be good the best light weight ever vs best feather weight ever suck it Frankie haters I don’t even get how people can be a fan of mma and hate Frankie this will be a amazing fight can’t wait for it

  23. EdgarGoestoHollywood says:

Aldo will be fighting somone his own size for a change and lose by KO. KFLO gave him trouble but Edgar’s unlike KFLO, knows how to finish.

  24. Dddddd says:

I’d like to here a breakdown by Florian.
My problem is with Dana thinking
Franks to small and putting him In
a weight class that the champ is to
big. I can’t help but wonder if this is
just a flip flop move by the UFC to
    create fresh intriguing matchups.
If Aldo’s cardio doesn’t hold up you
can expect an emediate title shot
at 55. I think it’s interesting that the
    American wrestler doesn’t cut and
    the Brazilian soccer player does.
Both guys have all my respect and
I hate to see either lose.

  25. Xaninho says:

Maybe Edgar can borrow Faber’s crutches. Aldo is going to chop him down.

  26. Gillette says:

Win lose or draw, Aldo would be a a bad role model because he doesn’t know how to grow a beard.
