Benson Henderson Not Looking To Get Defensive On The Ground Against Nate Diaz | UFC NEWS
“I think we will find out. He’s tough, he’s a great fighter, he’s proven himself over and over again. He earned the number one contendership. So, when we go inside, when we get inside that cage, we’ll find out, we will see. I think a lot of times, I’m a bit lackadaisical when I train, knowing I can get out of this position and I can survive or something like that. But, I know against Nate, I would rather not be in that position in the first place. I don’t want to have to defend. I want to defend earlier to not be put there in the first place.”

i think benson knows he’s in trouble. from all the recent interviews he’s talkin like he’s about to face the champ, not the other way around. benson takes it to the ground he gets subbed. stays standing and he gets the beating of a lifetime.
hes just not getting complacent
anyone with a brain could see that nate is the perfect type of matchup to take him out. this isnt just about speed, nate is very clever, fast and has a strong jitz background. while bendo can get out of armbars he might struggle with certain chokes.

I know a strategy to beat the Diaz’s. Constant leg kicks and wrestling! Donald Cerrone kept kicking Nate’s legs from under him.
Yeah, and yet he was afraid to go to the ground with him, and got pummeled in the stand-up. Nate put a beating on Cerrone incase you forgot!! I know a strategy to not get beat by Nate. Dont freakin fight him!!!
on a lot of movement. Like he just said: not being put in the position in the first place. Diaz used his boxing first then his ground in his last three. Henderson is so much quicker than Miller/Cerrone/Gomi that he will be moving and hitting constantly, avoiding Diaz as much as possible.
Not a guarantee for either and is promising to be a good one.
this will definitely be a huge test for Benson H.; no question the guy has talent, but Nate seems to be on another level right now.
