Bendo Coach Calls ‘Showtime Kick” A Fluke

“It was a fluke. It’s like getting caught with a punch. All the best fighters have lost, you know what I mean? How many times has Anderson Silva seen the Ryo Chonan heel hook? How many times is he going to see Chris Weidman catching him with that hook? If you’re great, if you compete with the best people in the sport, you are going to have an unfortunate moment at some point. And they’re going to replay it and talk about it, but it’s just another moment. It’s one speck of time. There was 24 minutes and 59 seconds of that fight that still went on.

“The thing that I remember about the ‘Showtime Kick’ or whatever you want to call it, is that Ben got up and was on a single leg to finish the fight,” he continued. “He was going to get that single. He was getting that takedown. It there’s 15 more seconds, Anthony’s on his back.”

Benson Henderson coach and mentor, John Crouch, was a guest on yesterday’s edition of “The MMA Hour“.

While on the show he discussed the first matchup between Ben and Anthony Pettis and the kick heard around the world that was dubbed the “Showtime kick”

Was it a fluke?

This guy is a real tool bag, sounds like he’s saying ” If Bendo got a takedown and had Pettis on his back for 15 seconds so Bendo would’ve won.”

  2. Gargoyle Wrestling says:

KUNT433 – are you actually as stupid as you post? Do you have a job or are you on disability?

  3. KIDD433 says:

GAYgoyle, what an unpleasant surprise. I work for a living, unlike you.Your still at home sucking moms’ titt, and dads’ dick, living in their basement, trolling on MMA websites all day.
If you put the effort that you do in being a tool bag in other places like maybe making something of yourself, you might be less of a waste of life. In all honesty, I hope you do.

Pay no mind to Gaygoyle. I challenged him to a bet, and he declined like a little bitch. He’s not going to make something of himself. He’s a waste of life, he’s a seed of DNA his mother should’ve swallowed years ago.

  4. The Way Of The Dutchman says:

lol such bullshit. So Pettis jumped up used the cage to launch himself and accidentally almost kicked Henderson head off?

  5. zzzzz says:

    and so are the following:
    -machida switch kick to randy
-AS front kick to the face delivered to vitor
-zombies twister sub to whoever that guy was
    -AS triangle choke to sonnen
    -aldo’s double knee to cub
you should do it a couple more times for it to be legit…
    John Crouch = idiot

  6. 757 says:

Bad match for Bendo. He will lose again…oh yeah he hits like a little girl to for how big he is

  7. BX81 says:

I think Henderson is going to win. Since they both have came to the UFC, hendo has improved the most. Now he holds the title an improved skill set and more confidence. That’s just the way I see it.

  8. zzzzz says:

    bendo’s win over edgar & melendez is a fluke…..

  9. ROFL says:

ROFL!! This is a joke, Bendo Is the fakest champ in the history of the sport lmao. He lost BOTH his fights with edgar, lost to Melendez and he’s still the champ.. LMFAO

  10. bobdogg says:

I wonder if Bendo would call it a fluke

  11. Guss says:

Hahaha! Fluke? Really? One time yes. It’s a “fluke”, but 3 defenses. Well, I’ll leave you to ponder what that is. As for Pettis’ kick. I would say a bit of both. It was lucky that it landed, only because Henderson (or anyone of that matter) would never have expected anyone to do that. At the time, I know we ALL dropped our jaws on that one. But, I have no doubt that Pettis intentionally did that. He just got lucky it landed. But regardless, Bendo was back up on his feet as fast as he went down. Now either the kick wasn’t that strong (which I think it was considering it dropped Benson), or Benson has granite head and can take some serious blows. Considering Edgar and Melendez couldn’t knock him out. I would go for the latter.

  12. Steve says:

Not a fan of Henderson, my least favorite among all champions, I would LOVE to see Pettis accidentally win again. Please correct me if I am wrong but didnt Pettis win by unanimous decision? So if that kick was a ‘fluke’ it’s not like he really won from that kick. Again I may be wrong please correct me. Frankie Edgar was my favorite lightweight champion, that is an entertaining fighter right there hope he regains the title again some day

  13. KIDD433 says:

This jack ass’ job as a coach is a fluke

  14. Dennis says:

  15. 757 says:
