Bendo Brushes Off Critics: ‘I definitely did enough to beat Thomson’

“I felt I definitely did enough to deserve to get my hand raised and get the W.

“Getting a W inside the UFC, let me see how you do it, and how you take it. I like W’s. I like getting my hand raised. I’ll take it any way I can get it; you slip on a banana peel, by the skin of my teeth, by any means.”

Following last weekend’s UFC on FOX 10 main event, many believe that Benson Henderson lost his fight.

For ‘Bendo’ though, he doesn’t really care. He won, he got the W and to him, that’s all that matters.

Boring ass fight another gift decision for Henderson, hope they give him Khabib next. Cerrone Diaz 2 would be pimp and while we’re at let Thomson and Melendez back at it. Oh and Frankie come back to 55 little guy and show em how it’s done!

  2. Xaninho says:

‘I did enough for the win’ Most fans don’t care for fighters who just ‘do enough’ to grind out weird decisions. Henderson is making a habit out of collecting questionable (split) decisions. Whenever he’s in an exciting fight it’s because his opponent makes it exciting.

I still don’t understand how people can say the fight was boring… I found the fight to be a good one; not fight of the year quality but a good fight.

As for Henderson I felt it was going to Thomson but it really could have gone either way that night, like I said before, if those 49 points were going to anyone I would have thought it was Thomson, but I can definitely see the fight going to Benson here.

Benson may have gotten taken down but he negated everything that Thomson threw at him and had the striking advantage by a rather large margin (if I recall correctly).

Having said that I think Xaninho has a pretty good point; Benson was a freaking destructive force when he was coming in from the WEC but has really slowed down since winning the title (Nate Diaz fight notwithstanding). Ben could be doing way more with his skill set.
