Well you don’t have to worry about that bjorn cuz aside from Chandler and Curran, who will eventually be UFC fighters, Bellator has no fighters worth of them purchasing you.
^^ haha there are a few.
But Bellator, like Strikeforce, will fold due to the UFC overwhelming success. Bjorn wont even be able to stop it.
oh and bellator sucks.
You need to do some research instead of saying things that aren’t true. Strikeforce did not fold due to the success of the UFC. Scott Coker sold a majority share of Strikeforce to San Jose Sports & Entertainment Enterprises which allowed them to get Fedor and Dan Henderson for the prices they did. Even though Strikeforce was turning a profit, SJS&EE was not seeing the return on their investment that they had hoped to see, figuring that Strikeforce would be running PPVs and doing numbers like the UFC. They decided to sell their stake in Strikeforce. Scott Coker tried to buy it back, but couldn’t afford it. Zuffa was the last option for SJS&EE to sell as there were no other potential buyers out there that would buy at the price they asked for.
r.i.p. bellator
Props to you Bjorn. I wish you all the luck in the world. I like Bellator. But never say never. Pride said they would never sell. And I’m sure WEC never thought they would never sell either. Even fighters who were admittedly loyal to Bellator, eventually made their move to the UFC. At the end of the day, when situations arises, where you are forced to make tough decisions that you thought you would never make, everyone reconsiders. Just saying.
He doesn’t have to worry about selling to Zuffa, because the decision wouldn’t be his. He is not the majority stake owner in Bellator anymore even though he still runs it. Viacomm is now the majority share owner, and if they feel like selling their stake to Zuffa if they ever want to get out of the MMA business, Bjorn has no say over it. He’d be the minority owner in a company that Zuffa controls.
Well unless he is the investor or owner he will sit on the side while UFC buys it just like Scott Croker had to do.
Thanks you Bjorn, love Bellator. If it ever gets sold to UFC I won’t be there anymore and I am hard core and watch every fight. Not a UFC fan obviously.
