Belfort vs. Belcher Official For UFC 153 | UFC News

Rumored middleweight opponents Vitor Belfort (21-9 MMA, 10-5 UFC) and Alan Belcher (18-6 MMA, 9-4 UFC) are now officially set to fight at UFC 153.

Belcher and Belfort will fight to determine who is in the high rankings of the middleweight division.

A spectacular finish may even advance the winner to a number one contender matchup, considering Tim Boetsch and Hector Lombard’s lackluster bout recently.

UFC 153 will take place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro on Oct. 13, 2012.

UFC 153 includes:

Champion Jose Aldo vs. Erik Koch (for featherweight title)
Alan Belcher vs. Vitor Belfort
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Glover Teixeira
Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra vs. Sam Sicilia
Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira vs. TBA
Sergio Moraes vs. Renee Forte
Reza Madadi vs. Cristiano Marcello

Let’s all hope injuries don’t change this card up.

This is shaping up to be a serious card! Guess this mean Weidman is gonna get fed to the Silva machine, which is dumb. He fucking ducked Vitor so he can fight silva… His only hope is a 5 round LnP or a sub, but thers about a .000000000000001% a purple belt is gonna sub a HIGH LEVEL black belt.. He’s doin it just to get his name out there, and gettin demolished by Anderson is not the way to do it.. I guess thats the thing to do now, get 1 quality win and start sayin your gonna beat the greatest MMA fighter of all time…. GTFO with that shit -____-

Personally I don’t think turning down a fight with Vitor to call out Anderson Silva qualifies as “ducking” >.>

With that being said… Belcher by decision. He’ll work him on the ground for 3 rounds me thinks. Or, maybe Vitor knocks him the fuck out O.o

      • B-rad says:

It is ducking him, hes trying to get the 15 minites of fame he hasnt earned yet.. He knows he cant beat Silva.. He probably thinks he cant handle Belfort’s boxing so he wants to get a crack at Silva while he can, beating an out of shape Munoz, and squeeking by Maia doesnt quilify him for shit, so yeah he is ducking him.. All that bein said this is a KILLER matchup,, gotta go with Belcher by UD

        • Mayor of Deviance says:

You can talk all you want. All I hear is “blah blah IhateWeidman blah blah”. Skipping a guy to fight for the CHAMPIONSHIP is not ducking. And if he thought he’d lose, it’s not really going to help him. He’s qualified since he’s one of the few MWs who isn’t coming off a loss and hasn’t already lost to Silva.

Belcher didn’t earn it yet so you can’t say him either. Hope he wins against Belfort and gets the title shot– till then though, Weidman’s got Silva’s number.

        • Xaninho says:

Yes it is ducking. He doesn’t want Belfort because losing to Belfort would mean back in the line for Weidman.

He has a bit of hype going on after beating a pudgy Munoz who just came back from an elbow surgery and he wants to use it to get a shortcut to a big payday titlefight.

          So ducking it is.

        • B-rad says:

Ok we wont call it ducking, we will call it “Jumping the line” But when someone challenges you, and you say no.. What do you call it??? He wants the fight thats all well and good, and if he was fighting Belfort or Belcher for the # 1 contender, and gets thru that fight, then he deserves it.. But as of now he doesnt deserve shit

this card is actually turning out to be a decent card, the final three fights of the ppv are great fights.

  3. mean170 says:

No injuries please and this card looks great. They need to stop feeding these guys to Jose Aldo in Brazil, it will be bad for Koch.

  4. KIDD433 says:

It’s too bad Weidman ducking Vitor, wanted to see Vitor silence that Weidman hype.Belcher aint on Vitors level, and will get KTFO…

    • Klaus Steele says:

That’s what was said about Belcher’s ground game compared to Palharres’. Everyone knows how that turned out. Don’t count Belcher out of a fight…

  5. Mike b says:

    Sick ass card.hopefully no injuries

  6. John M says:

As long as Alan Blecher that fought last time shows up this is gonna be a sick fight!

  7. Irie nation says:

Belfort only beats chumps these days…belcher and weidman the future of the 185 class

  8. mj says:

You can always tell the guys who just started watching MMA in the last couple years after they say something stupid like…Alan will work Vitor on the ground LMAO. Look up boths levels. Vitor is the bester striker HANDS DOWN better wrester(been training with randy ever since he got schooled) got third in adcc 2001 absolute. Is a black belt in judo and has only lost to fucking legends! Chuck(UD)Tito(SD)Randy(well ahh lol) Dan Henderson(UD) Overeem 2 times(UD) and (sub). He fought all in the prime, he is only 35 an if you think Belcher is scares Vitor you problably dont even know the difference between frank shamrock and Ken.

    • Irie nation says:

We can tell you barely started getting into mma…if vitor has the best striking as you claim why didn’t he knock silva out? Or even make it out of the 2nd? You Belfort nuthugger…look at his record and you will see his last legitimate win over a legitimate opponent has to be couture in 2004…what’s that 8 years ago? Beating Johnson says a lot right? Oh wait he got cut by the UFC…beating rich Franklin says a lot…oh wait Franklin is past his prime and isn’t the fighter he once was…beating lindland is quality?? No! Akiyama? He’s also a chump…vitor hasn’t got a quality win in some time so pull his dick out of your mouth and let’s be real…belcher via 2nd round submission to send that washed up Brazilian into retirement

      • Mike b says:

A man who knows it all.good job buddy….I always thought belcher was so underrated.he finally gets a fight with a top five guy.his fights are exciting to watch he has a sick ground game solid striking and has a hell of a chin.vitor has fast hands and good boxing and is a black belt under Carlson Gracie.that being said I don’t think vitor could submit belcher cause even palhares couldn’t sub belcher and we all know about palhares.but he could definitely stop belcher on his feet with his hands.belcher is capable of submitting vitor if he can get the fight to the ground.if belcher can’t take this fight to the ground hell have a long night.even though I like belcher as a fighter and he has a granite chin I think vitor’s speed and killer instinct will get vitor a tko win in the 2nd round.if belcher wins I can see him making vitor exhausted on the ground and winning by submission in the 3rd round or winning a decision.but I’ll take vitor by tko 2nd rd.
